Though quitting is not my thing, a quilter friend suggested this visit. The museum is small but the creativity of the featured quilters is worth a visit. Shouldn't take more than an hour to visit

This is a great museum. It's small, but filled with lovely quilts from Virginian quilters. It's the official quilt museum of the Commonwealth. The staff is friendly and they are mostly all volunteers. The museum is open from February - December and it is open Tuesday-Saturday 10am-4pm.

I wanted to see more quilts, the downstairs was mostly needlepoint and we were disappointed we could not take photos. The docents were friendly and helpful but we expected more.

The artistry displayed in the large number of hangings is incredible. There is a $7 fee to tour the museum. We were amazed at the variety of quilts being shown.

The museum is in a beautiful, historical house with impressive architectural details. The Civil War quilts and correspondence are very moving. The more recent quits are the most beautiful and unique I have ever seen. If in Harrisonburg, you should go!
