“One word could sum this place up...AMAZING!”
Reviewed March 5, 2014

I recently had the pleasure of having dinner with friends at Local Chop and Grill House. I do understand that some can go to the same restaurant and have a different experience than others. For us, from the moment we arrived, we realized how much of a gem this place was! We had reservations for 4 for 8:30 PM, but thought we should arrive a little earlier, since, reading the reviews on this place said that the restaurant is constantly busy. We arrived around 8ish, with really no expectation of anything, because we knew we were there early. We pulled up and was greeted by the restaurants valet service, which I might add is TOTALLY FREE! This was awesome, as it appears that there aren't very many parking spaces in their lot and street parking looked pretty scarce. After handing the keys off to the valet, we walked in and advised the hostess that we were checking in for our 8:30 reservation. As we thought, it might have been too early, however, here is where the service gets stepped up a notch. The hostess advised us that our table wasn't ready, but, she offered us some seats by the bar, so if we wanted, we could order drinks and sit comfortably while we waited for our 8:30pm reservation. Needless to say, we took her up on her offer and she walked us over to the bar area where we sat comfortably by the fire place. A server from the bar come over right away, gave us a drink menu, and came back and took our orders. Drinks came back to the table in no time. We sipped and waited. At about 8:20pm, the hostess came to us to let us know that our table was now ready. We still had our drinks so she let us know that, when we were ready, just come back up and we could be seated. We took a few more sips, gathered our things, and went back up to the hostess a few mins later. We got seated on the upper level. I've seen a few reviews complain about the narrow/steep staircase, however, I was able to manage just fine. Once seated, our waiter came over and offered to take our coats if needed. We opted to hang our coats on the near-by coat rods. Our waiter then proceeded to run down the menu. This is another area where you could tell that they liked to step it up a notch, as the waiter was very knowledgeable in the different dishes, seasoning, types of meat, where they get there locally grown ingredients from, etc. He even offered a few recommendations on the sauce and seasoning combos. When he allowed us time to make our decisions about our orders, we discussed about the warm fuzzy feeling we all had at the beginning about this place, and how that fuzzy feeling was starting to grow. Until this point in my life experiences of restaurants, this was totally unheard of. I was beginning to think our dining experience was going to be perfect. Not to drag on, we ordered our food, more drinks, etc. The food came in a very reasonable amount of time, and it was perfect! Literally one of, if not, the best meals I had in a restaurant in a long time. Both the service and the food...totally impeccable! Needless to say, our server recommended dessert. Usually, I'm not a dessert person but I felt like I couldn't leave without having a good ending to a lovely meal. We all ordered dessert and was not disappointed! Best meal, service, atmosphere, etc EVER! Before finishing up our desserts, our waiter told us that he'd take our valet ticket to make sure that our car was waiting outside once we finished and was ready to go. He did and it was! Honestly, in life you may have a dining experience that is great, but there are small parts that you may not have been impressed with, however, this place had us amazed from beginning to end. After leaving the restaurant, we couldn't stop talking about what a wonderful dining experience we all had. Would definitely recommend this to anyone. If I didn't live 2 hours away, I'd go here more often. You will not be disappointed.

“Good service, good food”
Reviewed February 27, 2014

I am pretty sure they overcooked my steak, but beyond that, it was quite good. Even the steak, overcooked, was very tasty because of the options you get on the rub and steak sauce.
They had a special of chocolate lavender creme brûlée, which was delicious. Overall, highly recommended.

“Amazing food but zero flexibility to meet your requests”
Reviewed February 22, 2014 via mobile

Group of 26 at this restaurant THURSDAY evening. The food was amazing as well as the table service. However the restaurant seemed to send the message we will take care of you our way -- not real sensitive to our requests even though we were the customer paying the Bill. First they communicated be there at 6:00p b/c we will have other customers & last time you were a few minutes late. When we asked for drinks before all arrived -- With NO flexibility the message was we will serve you once all are seated -- not real sensitive to the customer that pays the Bill!

“Beware of Pork Chop!”
Reviewed February 21, 2014

Have eaten several times at the Chop House and it's been quite satisfactory. Tonight I ordered the pork chop and more than half of it was fat and gristle. What meat I could find was flavorful, but not particularly tender. It certainly was not worth the price. I pointed out the inferior quality to the waitress who offered a half hearted apology, but there was no response from the management. It was a disappointing meal.
