This is a nice beach with some awesome views, but it's all about when you go. The crowd can be pretty rough on weekends and nights, so be careful if you're making a family visit.

“Best advice on this vacation!”
Reviewed July 8, 2012

Our front desk attendant suggested this beach when I asked where she would stop on the first morning of a four day stay...we LOVED it! Great location, nice playground, very clean changing rooms and showers, lots of parking, nice walkways to the beach, and a lifeguard on duty! My husband and youngest son spent over an hour searching for little crabs on the little wooden beach erosion pole stumps (not sure what these are properly called), another hour or two with all the kids searching for shells and finding an awesome conch shell and hermit crab and just playing in the very clean surf!

“Perfect beach for families”
Reviewed July 6, 2012

We aren't your typical beach-going type but since hubby was in town for business we decided to scope out the local beach. Buckroe is the ideal beach for our family! It's not crowded, parking was easy, there is a playground for our lil ones, there were lots of other families there also. We loved being able to actually enjoy ourselves at the beach instead of fighting off the crowds at more touristy beaches. Beware, however, we got eaten-up by mosquitoes at the playground area around late evening-dusk. Bring insect repellent if you plan on going in the evening.
