The Conch and Bucket is a nice laid-back seafood restaurant with enthusiastic staff about a zillion varieties of beers and good seafood. Basiaclly a high in pub atmosphere in the old town section of Hampon. The Conch and Bucket is a fun place to have a coule of beers with friends in a slightly noisy, fun environment. Think of the old "Cheers" TV show except with good food. No reseervations.

Good variety on menu with daily specials, best spot I found in Hampton while on a business trip. Great wine selection and friendly staff. Nice ambiance and beauitful space.

So glad we found this on TripAdvisor. Hampton has only a few outstanding restaurants, and this fairly young addition in the old town area is a real gem. Inspired entrees at reasonable prices.

Food: An extensive menu of seafood and Southern styles, and everything we had was superb. They do a great job creating interesting flavors without going overboard. The crab cakes were a bit different, with a light crust, and no filler at all. Even the side of rice caught our attention, seasoned and flavorful, not just something to fill the plate. The swordfish catch of the day was flaky, moist and with a crispy grilled layer. With several styles of mac & cheese on the menu, we had to try one. Smooth, rich home-style blend of several cheeses gave it a real pop. Overall, one of the best meals we've had in months.

Atmosphere: A wharf-front tavern feel, keeping with the style of the area. Only 10 or so tables, well-spaced, covered in butcher paper. Cozy, comfortable, and relaxed. Nice date place, though though not for a special romantic event. Try it for a quiet, simple evening.

Service: On the mark. Solid menu recommendations, explaining the different styles. Attentive throughout the meal, friendly, no hovering.

Pro: Exceptional meals at reasonable prices.

Con: None.

We had the specials. One was steak where the restaurant chooses the best cut they can get for about $22. That night it was a new york steak which was aged, flavorful and cooked to a perfect medium rare. The other special was the swordfish which was also cooked perfectly. Another dish at our table was the mussels pasta dish which was also very good. The portions of vegetables on the side could have been more generous. We went on a Tuesday night which was not busy. Service was just ok.

P.S. We asked about the empty picture frames on the walls and the mast hanging from the ceiling, and did not get a real answer about the frames.

I have eaten here several times and always had a wonderful experience. The food is always good. Love the Shepards Pie and Mac and Cheese. Nice wine list to choose from. I highly recommend this restaurant.
