“Don't waste your time or money”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 20, 2011

I was really excited to try this place, I had heard some great comments. But we left hungry and dissapointed. The ambience and atmosphere is great, and the waitress was very nice. However, service was slow, the food was overpriced, the portions were small, and the taste was not worth the money.
We ordered a $30 carafe of sangria, and got 3 glasses total out of it. It tasted good, but there should have been more for that price.
We ordered a cheese board that included 3 cheeses - basically store bought cheddar cubes, a small hunk of Manchego, and some crumbled up feta. The bread was soggy, the fruit was going bad, and the "chopped nuts" were basically tiny pieces of almonds scattered on top - nothing you could really eat.
We ordered the "Crab and Tomoto Dip". We got a tiny ramiken of lump crab meat, not mixed or baked with any cheeses or anything, and it had one or two small chunks of tomato in it. Plus, it tasted off. It was served with tiny little chip crisps that were too small to hold any dip and too thin to pick any dip up anyways.
We ordered the Beef Wellington for 2 as well...imagine my surprise when we got shredded fatty greasy roast beef rolled in a fried dough. Arguably this was the best thing I had eaten the whole night there...
My daughter had a flatbread Margherita Pizza...this was good and the taste was excellent, but there was so much cheese and grease that the flatbread was soggy and falling apart - It became too hard to eat by hand and we had to cut it into peices for her to eat with a fork.
We waited 30 minutes after placing our order to get even the first bit of food - how long does it take to put some cheese on a plate??
It is really sad when a great restaurant shoots themselves in the foot - This could be a great place to hang, if they lowered their prices (mixed drinks STARTED at $10) or upped their portions, and did some real quality control on their menu. We had a $75 check, and left the restaurant hungry, aggravated and dissapointed. We will not be going back.

“Fun little place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 13, 2011

Went to this place when it was still a little chilly out so we sat inside. Beautiful ambiance! There's a full bar and lounge area with couches (although not a large one) but if you want a more private table they have a wall sectioning off the dining area and it was surprisingly quiet. The menu had lots of fun tapas like options- We started with a delicious fresh caprese salad then I had the cheese plate and my boyfriend had one of the flatbreads. Both were delicious- the flatbread was more of a pizza but still yummy! We also some of the kabobs, little sticks with fresh meats, cheese, and veggies. Too full for dessert but it was a lovely experience! Our server was very good as well, busy but kept up with us.

“Wonderful!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 30, 2011

We visited in the middle of a lovely Saturday afternoon. We sat at the bar and had some wine and 2 appetizers. It was terrific! Definitely will be back! I highly recommend the smoked salmon appetizer! I'm sorry I don't remember the bartenders name but he was awesome! I cannot wait to go back again!

“Delicious Meals , Wonderful Jazz, Great Service!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 10, 2011

As a Hampton local, we have experience many restaurants in the Hampton Rds.area. Terra is a new addition to the Peninsula Town Center in Hampton and, we must say, is WONDERFUL! The gourmet offerings from the chef and the bar can't be beat and the live jazz is top class. It is obvious that the owners/managers of this establishment have a keen vision of what works for this business and brought something really special to Hampton. You will not be disappointed. Lunch is great, dinner is superb and the entertainment, service and ambiance make for a GRAND CELEBRATION OF LIFE everyday! You wil not be disappointed!
