I was really excited to try this place, I had heard some great comments. But we left hungry and dissapointed. The ambience and atmosphere is great, and the waitress was very nice. However, service was slow, the food was overpriced, the portions were small, and the taste was not worth the money.
We ordered a $30 carafe of sangria, and got 3 glasses total out of it. It tasted good, but there should have been more for that price.
We ordered a cheese board that included 3 cheeses - basically store bought cheddar cubes, a small hunk of Manchego, and some crumbled up feta. The bread was soggy, the fruit was going bad, and the "chopped nuts" were basically tiny pieces of almonds scattered on top - nothing you could really eat.
We ordered the "Crab and Tomoto Dip". We got a tiny ramiken of lump crab meat, not mixed or baked with any cheeses or anything, and it had one or two small chunks of tomato in it. Plus, it tasted off. It was served with tiny little chip crisps that were too small to hold any dip and too thin to pick any dip up anyways.
We ordered the Beef Wellington for 2 as well...imagine my surprise when we got shredded fatty greasy roast beef rolled in a fried dough. Arguably this was the best thing I had eaten the whole night there...
My daughter had a flatbread Margherita Pizza...this was good and the taste was excellent, but there was so much cheese and grease that the flatbread was soggy and falling apart - It became too hard to eat by hand and we had to cut it into peices for her to eat with a fork.
We waited 30 minutes after placing our order to get even the first bit of food - how long does it take to put some cheese on a plate??
It is really sad when a great restaurant shoots themselves in the foot - This could be a great place to hang, if they lowered their prices (mixed drinks STARTED at $10) or upped their portions, and did some real quality control on their menu. We had a $75 check, and left the restaurant hungry, aggravated and dissapointed. We will not be going back.
