“Wonderful overview of the history of Hampton, VA”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 2, 2013

We got on one of the last cruises of this season. They educate you for three hours on the history of Hampton, the tunnel-bridges, Norfolk, Fort Wool, Fort Monroe as well as a little Black Beard story. The ship is very comfortable, the food was excellent. The kids ages 2 and 4 just spent most of the time enjoying watching the bubbles over the side of the ship.

“An unbelievably great day on the water”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2013

Even though the cruise was a bit balmy, the excursion was incredible and we highly recommend it. The tour guide was a fountain of information re revolutionary war history, civil war history, ww1 and ww11 history and the ships and planes of our military past and present. Even though I seldom take the time to write a review, this portion of our vacation in the Virginia area was so good, I wanted others to hear of it. We were even lucky enough to get within the legal limit of 500yds of a nuclear sub leaving port for the open sea.

“Updated our knowledge”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 15, 2013

The day was cloudy but the rain held off. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and taught us many things we'd forgotten from our history lessons and much new info. We lucked our at the Navy base and saw the ususal ships, a large ship being towed out and a submarine restocking. Our tour guide told us this was rare. We were impressed that he could tell us the kind of ships, what they do, people it carries and the names of the ships. He is a walking encloypedia. The crew was professional making our cruise very enjoyable. The tour usually includes a stop at Fort Wool, but the weather made it not possible. The guide gave us such good information that I didn't feel we missed a thing.

“Relaxing 3 hour cruise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 12, 2013

We took this cruise the Thursday after Labor Day and it was not crowded. The only issue we had was parking. Once we found the hotel parking garage it would not give us a ticket to enter and no where was there a sign stating the parking was free. We got our tickets n the office area next to the dock and used the rest rooms there. There are also rest rooms on board the boat and drink can purchased on the boat. The tour was very informative. We learned about the Hampton area and headed towards Fort Wool. We were disappointed that we could not tour Fort Wool as the dock had been blocked by something in the water. The captain did a good job of going around the Fort Wool island though. The tour past the naval ships was excellent and the guide (Jim I believe) was very informative including knowing the names that corresponded to the numbers on the ships. The ride back to port was relaxed with some narration and question and answers along the way. Would recommend this trip to anyone

“Nice overview of the area”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 8, 2013

Took this tour to get a good overview of the area. Very informative and enjoyable. After the turn around just past the Naval base the tour kind of dragged and there wasn't a whole lot of new information presented. The day we were on the tour took about 2.5 hours. Very nice, relaxing, informative and enjoyable.
