“Oyster Alley @ the Regatta Grill”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

Oyster Alley is kind of the kid sister to the Regatta Grill. The Regatta Grill is elegant...fine food in a plush indoor setting. Oyster Alley sits right alongside her big brother...and she should not be overlooked! Oyster Alley has seating in the open air alongside a dock that hosts many handsome boats. The food is good...the setting is great. Treat yourself and check it out!

“Oyster Alley review . Outside dining.”
Reviewed July 6, 2013

What a shame to have this wonderful location without any direction. We arrived early Sat. afternoon during Jazz Festival weekend. The toilets in the Regatta grill which also serve oyster alley were terrible. Out of 4 ladies stalls 2 were closed and the other 2 one was dirty which left one usable stall. The outside restaurant had 3 tables occupied. Waitstaff standing around. The server showed us to 2 tables. Both were dirty. Flowers on the tables were dead. Chairs do not match up with tables. You feel like a child sitting at the table. It got worse from there. Server was very friendly but was unable to answer simple questions like what beer do you serve. It got worse. We finally got up and left to find another place in downtown Hampton that just opened up called Venture. Please see my review under Hampton Venture.

“Indifferent wait staff”
Reviewed May 17, 2013 via mobile

Had lunch here with a group of 20. They knew we were coming. Had pre ordered food. Arrived on time, they had one wait staff for all of us. She brought food out 2 orders at a time at a snails pace. Food arrived cool. Buns soggy on burgers. Had to flag her down for condiments. Poor service and mediocre food. Too many good resturants to waste your money here.

“An Unexpected Disappointment”
Reviewed March 31, 2013

After eating at Regatta Grille many times over the past several years, I had no problem recommending this venue for a family gathering on a Saturday morning. I made reservations for eight persons a week in advance and confirmed them early the morning of the engagement to ensure no surprises.

When we arrived, we found our accommodations ready and were promptly seated. One of our party asked if egg substitute was available on the buffet. He was told no but the kitchen would supply him with such if he decided to order the buffet. He agreed. The waiter then returned to state egg substitute WAS NOT available after a trip to the buffet was already made.

The other orders were taken and we were forced to wait over 30 minutes to be served! The restaurant was NOT busy. Once our meals finally arrived, there was no butter or jellies served for the toast, french toast and pancakes. We had to ask for each. When the waiter returned he said he "has the butter thawing" and that it would take a several minutes. WHAT!?
Finally a small bowl with approximately 7 tiny balls of butter arrived...still frozen. Hardly enough for all and, now that the meals were cold, too frozen to be spread on our selections.

I am not sure what happened to the cordial, prompt and concise service once prevalent at Regatta Grille but it has obviously sunk beneath the waters off the boardwalk outside.

Great service and helpfull staff. We were late but they didn't care. Had a great meal and a wonderful relaxing time. No hasseled by servers but they came and went quietly and professionally. I enjoyed it very much.
