We had not been to Dante's in many years because our initial dining experience was not good. Dante's is in a beautifully restored and very large home; at the time we went, the entire home had not been renovated, and tables were much too close together for a white tablecloth establishment. They have long ago corrected the crowded floor plan, as the second floor is open; in addition there is a lovely covered porch with four tables and a huge outdoor patio area that seats many more. This restaurant is pure Italian; all pastas are handmade; and the chef is quite skilled. The bartender knows what he is doing, and there is a well-priced and fairly extensive wine list. Service was quite good but could have been a bit friendlier. The food was truly delicious. We each had an appetizer and main course but were too full to try a dessert. Though some people were exceedingly casually dressed, Dante's would be perfect for a special occasion.

I continue to return to DANTE Ristorante in Great Falls because the food is great, the service is by a competent, caring, experienced wait staff, and the atmosphere is outstanding. Good for lunch or dinner. Housed in a large period Victorian home its outdoor dining is serenaded by a fountain and a three piece combo on the weekends for dinner, its indoor dining is in many different dining rooms, each tastefully decorated and acoustically quiet even when they have a full house. Calamari Fritters are great. Their beet and spinach salads are recommend over their ordinary Cesar. Osso Buco is Ok; Cioppino is too spicy. Recommend their game dishes when they have them, pan fired fish when it is on the menu, all the veal dishes and any pasta dishes any day of the week.

The pasta courses are very good, especially Dante's version of lasagne. The location is not much, but the old house that is the restaurant exudes charm inside in what are small separated dining areas. Indeed, if you eat dinner early, you may have the place to yourself. My only complaint is that the menu does not change often enough.

Dante's is a nice little place in Great Falls. In a world of strip malls, this place provides character. Looks to be an old house that was refurbished.

Prices are sort of high, but it is a pleasant experience.

Dante's is one of those restaurants where the owners and staff make you feel welcome. They have a most picturesque outdoor dining area, weather permitting, and very beautiful indoor offerings for the colder and wetter nights. Their wine list is ample, well selected and reasonably priced, and presented by the owners who are very helpful in choosing a wine that will fit your pallet and wallet.
Their appetizers are preceded by complimentary bread offering that always requires a second basket. Their apps and salads can do for a grazing dinner, but you would then miss their rabbit or lamb, and that would be a mistake. Their ravioli is homemade and stuffed creatively. This is a special restaurant for both special and “glad to be alive”/”let’s eat out” occasions.
