We had not been to Dante's in many years because our initial dining experience was not good. Dante's is in a beautifully restored and very large home; at the time we went, the entire home had not been renovated, and tables were much too close together for a white tablecloth establishment. They have long ago corrected the crowded floor plan, as the second floor is open; in addition there is a lovely covered porch with four tables and a huge outdoor patio area that seats many more. This restaurant is pure Italian; all pastas are handmade; and the chef is quite skilled. The bartender knows what he is doing, and there is a well-priced and fairly extensive wine list. Service was quite good but could have been a bit friendlier. The food was truly delicious. We each had an appetizer and main course but were too full to try a dessert. Though some people were exceedingly casually dressed, Dante's would be perfect for a special occasion.
