The Old Brogue is our Cheers. We absolutely love it. No matter what night we go, we see friends. The owner, Mike Kearney, knows everyone in town and is very involved in the community. He has done a lot to take the food from what used to be just pub fare to a sophisticated, well-rounded menu that changes regularly and has something for everyone. There is also a good selection of beer and wine. There is live music on weekends, an Irish music series, trivia night, and Spring happy hours. There is a back deck and front patio for outdoor dining (dogs allowed on the patio) and a large table with a fire pit next to the fountain. From early morning until 1:00, part of the restaurant becomes Katie's Coffeehouse where you can get pastries, yogurt, fruit and a limited breakfast and lunch menu. Free wi-fi makes it a tremendously popular place for small business meetings and a comfortable place to meet friends for coffee. On Saturday mornings from 6:30 to 9:00 it's "ground zero" for Katie's Cars and Coffee, an informal gathering of as many as 300 cars and car aficionados - everything from classics to Teslas.

This is a staple of meeting, lunching, dinners, family, and more.
I used to find this 'cliquish' and not as comfortable. The last few times I was there it was not the case. In the nicer weather, eating outside is an option. Great burgers and more. Casual good experience. The owner is also very much a part of the community and giving back.

It's a pub, or at least Great Falls' version of one, and it works out well. Friends gather at the bar. Folks head to tables and on the way wave hello to one another, stop for a quick chat...you got it, a neighborhood (kind of) eating and drinking establishment: A pub. The service tends to be great sometimes and good almost all the time. The place is usually crowded, which explains why. The food used to be so-so. In the last two years, though, the quality has really shot up, in terms of the food itself (mostly farm to table) and better prepared. It's really very, very good. So, too, the beer list. Live music is offered some nights, along with happy hour specials. Truly, this little gem of a place place is a genuine community asset.
