This is a local sweet/coffee/bake shop and almost all of their food is home-cooked, with the exceptions of lunch meats. Their desserts are fabulous, but my favorite is the pumpkin spice cake that has a layer of light frosting combined with Toffee chips that will make you melt and send you to the dentist! All of the cookies and brownies are great, and homemade, as are the sweet cinammon rolls, bread pudding, scones and bread rolls. The soups are wonderful but I suggest that you try the Chicken Tortilla (fabulous) or Baked Potato (decadent) but don't forget about the salads also! Their Asian Chicken is wonderful and enough to share for 2, and includes Romaine lettuce, Mandarin oranges, dried cranberries, shredded cheddar cheese, and tons of their home-baked chicken breast, in hunks and shredded, along with slivered Almonds and their fantastic Asian dressing. Did I mention that you also get Chow Mein noodles AND a freshly baked dense roll with butter? You really must try this hidden gem for great pastries, sandwiches, soups and salads. Oh, and they also serve fresh coffe! There's not much room for dining but if necessary, order and take with you and if nothing else, grab a coffee and pastry or dessert (the brownies are about 6 inches thick and dark like river mud, topped with chocolate chips and can easily serve 2-4 people). Your tummy will thank you - I promise!

My husband & myself went adventuring about the area of Williamsburg. We were so pleasantly surprised to find Gloucester! Jessica's was perfect to have a 41st wedding anniversary lunch. It was nice on the inside & outside. Great service. Great food! It was fun & yummy! We wanted to get a t-shirt, but they were all out. Nice, nice, nice!

A very nicely decorated place in the old town part of Gloucester. An eclectic menu that ends up producing an eclectic quality of offerings. Fried calamari was done in strips in a unusual but tasty batter - about half the portion one would expect at the price. They feature burgers but had run out of ground beef at lunch - this was several hours later. It was either a beef taco salad or a full sirloin steak for beef. The service was very good but an order for 'spresso and Sambuca was graciously taken. When the server discovered that they really did not have Sambuca, he produced a double 'spresso to make up for it - in a coffee mug and the worst 'sptesso that I have ever had anywhere. A nice place, but the kitchen needs to get over trying to be super yuppie cute and get back to the point of the exercise - producing a good variety of quality prepared food as a realistic price.

Small hometown cafe. Seating is very limited and tables are close together - they do a lot of to go orders (including mine) Food is absolutely delicious. Just about everything is homemade - all their salads (chicken, tuna, and egg). And they sell these by the pound as well. Their chicken salad is the best I've ever had (and I have tried chicken salad from about everywhere), but I do still have to add mayo when I take it home and put on a sandwich. They fresh bake all their bread and bakery items daily and reduce yesterday's items. You might get a brownie that is from yesterday at full price, but they are so thick and rich. Have full coffee service and use good quality ingredients. Their cranberry wheat bread with walnuts is just delicious. Ask them to heat up for you with butter - you will just die. I have been going there for years and never been disappointed with anything I've had. Only bad thing is their service. A lot of times staff is not very friendly and seem short with you. Think this is because they're so busy all the time and this is a small place. But if you can get past this, you will be so glad you stopped!
