“Excellent for Business Conferences”
Reviewed May 13, 2013 via mobile

I recently stayed here on business with about 150 colleagues. The hotel feels very "Virginian'' with three colonial buildings around a central quad. One of the three buildings was dedicated to hotel rooms and suites while the other two are dedicated to conference services and hotel amenities.

The hotel roo. were of standard size, clean, and quiet. The only complaint I have is that they do not come with a small fridge. Wireless internet worked fine and cable was easy to navigate.

The pool water was still chilly but kids found a way to swim anyway. There is a golf course that looked well-maintained but I did not play.

The conferencerooms were spread among the other two buildings and offer an array of sizes. The largest room can sat our entire audience with room to spare. Smaller rooms accommodated u shaped tables of 12.

Breakfast and lunch were served buffet style with an omelet station and ice cream station respectively. The food was good but a little heavy on starches.

Jamie, the bartender in the Tavern, took excellent care of us. She has a wonderful recipe consisting of Bombay gin, lemonade, basil, and some secrets served in an up glass. Our group tended to descend upon her at the tavern each night and she could have used an extra hand to keep up with the demand. The bar is supposed to close at 11:00 yet she was kind enough to let us linger a bit longer each night.

There is no spa service onsite; however, there is a mobile spa service that will come to your room for massages, manicures and pedicures. They were prompt and took excellent care of my wife. I would recommend calling a couple of days ahead if possible as they book up quickly and service several other locations.

I gave lower ratings on location and value because I do not know the Richmond area well enough to comment on either.

I had a very good experience at this hotel and would recommend it.

Thank you for taking time to provide us feedback from your recent stay at Wyndham Virginia Crossings. As one of the country's top conference centers we really do focus on providing excellent service and product. One of the highest rated areas is our food service that, as you know, provides an abundance of choices in a buffet style presentation. If you ever return to us again, please let us know about any food issues and we will customize something for you. Again, we appreciate your business and safe travels.

The hotel was very nice. It was quiet, clean, the showers were great. Everything was pretty excellent with the exception of parking. The parking wasn't great at the buildings. There did not seem to be enough spaces. There were cars parked on the sides of the parking lot and on the side walk due to lack of spaces.

Thanks for writing to us concerning your recent stay at Wyndham Virginia Crossings. We're happy to know that you enjoyed th property and that your stay was "excellent". Concerning the parking; we just got finished recarpeting all the guest rooms and public space. Unfortunately we had to put some dumpsters around the building for the old carpeting. I apologize if it created any inconvenience for you. Normally we have plenty of parking for our guests.Thank you for staying with us and we hope that you return to us again. Safe travels.

The place looks impressive, all colonial and red brick-y, and with nice gardening. But as soon as you walk in you wonder if it's seen its better days. I asked to find out that Wyndham had bought the property within the past decade, but that it was much, much older.

The hotel rooms were very much like any hotel, probably a slight downgrade from a standard Wyndham, but they had to work with what they could. Not nearly enough parking. You pretty much have to park on whatever green space is around the small parking lot behind the hotel part.

Had breakfast in the dining room/affiliated restaurant. They were very slow and pretty much didn't want to acknowledge our family. Nothing at all special about the place except for the grounds.

Thank you for taking time to write. We appreciate your feedback. Wyndham Virginia Crossings is not your conventional hotel. You can sense that from the moment you drive through the gates, past the golf course and up to Jefferson Hall (registration area) with it's iconic gold eagle perched on its cupola. Because we have a world class conference center, there are times when parking is hs to over flow but it sounds like you found a space on the grass. Sorry for the inconvenience. Also, I will discuss your breakfast service concern with our staff. One of the things we do best is provide excellent service to our guests and falling short is never acceptable. Thanks again for your business and safe travels.

Thank you for writing. Unlike many vertical hotels, here at Wyndham Virginia Crossings we have an abundance of "quaint and cozy". With 20 acres of landscaped grounds, not including our adjacent golf course, the historic Williamsburg-style architecture, The Tavern Restaurant fire pit and our affable, amiable staff, Wyndham Virginia Crossings would indeed provide a wonderful get away for you and the Ms. Until then, safe travels.
