Owner description: Great wines, fantastic service, knowledgeable owners, educational visit. First stop on any winetasting trip in the northern Shenandoah Valley, VA MUST include the Glen Manor Vineyards. Bag a picnic lunch, purchase a top-quality wine from these folks, and spend an hour or two on the grounds. You will not be disappointed! PS. Stop at the Elements Restaurant in Front Royal for your lunch-to-go. The gourmet food pairs nicely with all of Glen Manor's selections.

“Lovely winery”
Reviewed October 24, 2012

The place was a little busy but the owner's wife was very informative and attentive, even with so many people mingling about. She was finishing up another patron's tasting/wine purchase while starting ours but she transitioned between us like a pro. The wines were very good and we wound up purchasing 3 bottles.

The property is small but very nice. There is no tour, just a tasting, and you can see the vineyard up the hill, below Skyline Drive. Beautiful view, plenty of chairs to sit and relax with a glass. There is also a small cemetery with very old gravestones, 200+ years old, where the owner's ancestors are buried.

Highly recommend checking out this vineyard if you'll be in Front Royal.

“Very good wines. Pleasant tasting.”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

Lovely building, pleasant owner run tasting. Lots of great information about the wine. Due to type of production, wine is a little high priced for just hanging out drinking. I purchased for fine dining.

“Lovely wines and view!”
Reviewed August 2, 2012

I love the wines at Glen Manor. There are only a small handful of wineries in VA that are my hands down go to, and this is one of them. Jeff is often manning the tasting room, and he is the winemaker. Very nice gentleman and his wife is absolutely adorable! I've gone there several times and also with friends. They let us picnic on the adirondack chairs and enjoy the views. This winery is not a pop up winery. This land is his family's land passed down by generations. The quaility of wines are just excellent.

“What a true Virginia Winery should be!!!”
Reviewed July 22, 2012

Start with " homegrown" grapes, nothing shipped in, add views of Skyline Drive and there you have it! Jeff's wines are ready to serve when he pours. He doesn't rush his wines and the patience shows. This winery is truly family owned and worked. I've been there tasting and you can see Jeff up working the vines. His wife was a Chef working in Washington D.C. she is now there with Jeff at the winery. Visit this winery, plan on taking a picinc and rest back in this quiet atmosphere. You will enjoy yourself.

“Excellent Wine, Beautiful Vineyard”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

Glen Manor is a small winery located directly below Skyline Drive, just outside of Front Royal. We were camping in the area, saw a sign for the winery, and decided to give a try on our way home. I loved the sign at the entrance that stated, "No more than six people in a group for tasting." That gives you an idea of how small the tasting room is, but the room is very well appointed and comfortable. It also allowed for a more in-depth discussion of how they produce their wines. They had only five wines for tasting when we went, a sauvignon blanc, a rose', a petit manseng, a cabernet franc, and a desert wine made from late harvest petit manseng. I'm partial to reds, but the winemaker's wife convinced me to try the whites. Wow! They were outstanding. I'd never had a petit manseng before, but it was really delightful, with a unique taste all its own. The cabernet franc was the best I've ever tasted. It is obvious that the winemaker takes great pride in what he produces and it shows in the quality of the wines. I left with over a case of great wine and will either make a return trip to buy more or have them ship a few cases when what I have is gone.
