This is a quaint setting for a restaurant. Every visit has been great and they are very popular so it is always very crowded, which is good.

You have two options. Option one: choose your meat and veggies and it comes out on your plate for you to enjoy. Option two: choose two or more meats, all the veggies and starches are brought out in family size bowls and your group can have as much as you wish. Endless refills

Always delicious no matter which option you choose.

I have eaten at the Pine Tavern for years and have never had a bad meal there. Their individual meals are really good, but their family style meals are the best value. Think about an all you can eat homestyle meal brought to your table that includes drinks and dessert for just $11 a person!!

Their biscuits are divine and the fried chicken is usually cooked to perfection. Their homemade blackberry cobbler is super good, as is their broccoli casserole!

Fireplace is so relaxing and the view is beautiful. This is a must eat place, even if you have to travel to get there!

Food is typically served family style, and is basic country cooking, like fried chicken, beef, and ham with mashed potatoes, string beans, and corn. Don't go there seeking something else, or if you want a light dinner. Think of it like a nostalgic Sunday evening family dinner at Grandma's (like people used to have).

The restaurant is located in what would seem to resemble Grandma's house, among trees and fields, but it is at the edge of the town of Floyd. It is a totally different experience than eating plastic food in a place like Applebees.

We have dined there several times and were never disappointed. The service has always been friendly, and the cooking consistent and excellent. You will not find chicken cordon bleu or lobster here, so I am setting your expectations. This is a great place to take a half-dozen to a dozen friends and family to.

Having ventured to Floyd wanting to take in the Show at Floyd Country Store, my wife and I found we had an extra hour prior to the show and went to the Pine Tavern. Their goals of a pleasant atmosphere and good home cooking have certainly been met! Recently moved from the NYC area and somewhat spoiled with an overabundance of good restaurants, we were both incredibly satisfied with the country"vibe", the meal itself, and the value! Even the biscuits were above average. Like another on this site, I can't imagine any negativity regarding this location, what might they be used to? Well done, Pine Tavern. We'll be back soon, and often!
