“Excellent grilled meats, atmosphere and service”
Reviewed March 7, 2011

Based on Trip Advisor reviews, tried this place. It was very slow at lunch, with only 3 tables occupied. However, the food was excellent! Had mixed grill with ground lamb, beef shish kabob, chicken kabob and a lamb chop. Came with seasoned potatoes with vegetables and dill, and an herb garnish. Also had a cup of lentil soup (wonderful!) and Turkish coffee. Surroundings are relaxing and well designed. Service was great. Would go back. A little pricy at lunch (all day menu with grilled item entrees $17 - $23), but you can order Turkish pizza, other entrees like eggplant, spinach pie, etc., and appetizers, like hummus, baba ghanouj, dolmas, feta cheese, etc. Very "tucked away". South of 50... take Pickett one block to Old Pickett, and it's on the right in a small strip mall. It's back in the right corner of this strip mall, and the restaurant name isn't visible from the street.

“Very good !”
Reviewed January 27, 2011

Service is excellent. Servers are always pay attention to their tables.

Food is second to none. I prefer this place to Nizams of Vienna. Dishes are genuine Turkish.

Mezes and Lahmajoon are great starters, even for vegetarians.

Doner and Adana kebabs are highly suggested with a glass of ayran (yogurt drink).

Highly recommended.

“A favorite with my husband...”
Reviewed January 15, 2011

I don't much care for Mediterranean food myself, but my husband does, and this is one of his favorite restaurants. I can give it good marks for decent ambiance and service. Tucked away in a strip mall, you might not expect such a find. Definitely not a place to bring small children, though. The menu has some variety, but is primarily Turkish-type food.

“More Turkish than Greek. Great lamb dishes and pleasant ambience.”
Reviewed December 20, 2010

Temel is a little treasure with an excellent chef, who came to our table to help select an entree for a diner with an allergy. Lamb chop servings were large for the price, and lamb shank was roasted to perfection. A roasted tomato garnish was just right for the lamb. One person tried the "Turkish Pizza" nicely prepared and a tasty surprise. Waiter was slow, but willing to please, and friendly. We used a discount coupon from their web site, which was graciously accepted and noted on the check. The coffee, a fragrant restaurant smooth blend, was fresh and refills were also fresh and generously offered. We got high value service and food for a modest price.

“Quiet Lunch”
Reviewed November 6, 2010

We wanted to go someplace different and saw the good reviews online. On Sat in the afternoon we where the only people in the restaurant. However the food was great and it was definitely worth the trip. I would suggest going for dinner though if you like a crowd.
