“Nice little theater”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

If you live in southern Fairfax, there isn't much in terms of movie theaters to choose from. You can go to Fair Oaks Mall and catch a flick there, but this one is close to folks on the southern and eastern edge of Fairfax. This theater is nestled in a corner of an old strip mall that appears to under some renovation. It has ample parking and next to DSW, shoppers, Bed Bath and Beyond, Best Buy, and some nearby restaurants. It has great matinee prices and is never really crowded, at least during matinee times. I haven't been there on a Friday or Sat. night, so I can't comment during those times.

“Cinema Arts Theatre”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

This movie theatre is a privately owned facility. He shows the popular films as well as some artsy (where you read the subtitles) films. In Fairfax, his was among the first theaters to recover following 9/11, when people were avoiding places that attracted a lot of patrons. If you are lucky, he will come through the theatre and fill up your popcorn box before the movie begins. Never had that happen anywhere else! Sorry -- I don't remember if there is wheel chair access, but I think there is. Check before going.

“Great films”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

Love this place. The seats may be rickety, but the theater is clean and the independent movies shown are what makes this place great. There is always the chance that the manager will circulate before the film starts, thanking patrons for coming and refilling popcorn containers for free. After previews run, he asks those present whether he should get the movie or not. Also, you can usually arrive five minutes before the show and walk right up to the ticket window and still have a good choice of seats.

“One of the few private cinema chains left”

Nice place. Has not only first run but also more artsy films. It is located in a shopping center so there are nearby places to eat.

“A tucked away cinemaplex with great independent movies”
Reviewed April 7, 2013

Not always super packed. Matinee deals always good. Plays hits sometimes, but love the indie films. Tickets are not pricey. If you enjoy popcorn, get the bucket (free refills). Very much a small neighborhood theater ... just with multiple screens. Enjoy.
