“Mamma Lucia”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

We've enjoyed pizzas there as well as Italian meals. You can call ahead to order the food so it doesn't take as long when you get there. This is one of the few restaurants where you can get birch beer. The only "problem" is that it is located outside the movie theater, so you are subjected to the smell of popcorn. The only time we've had a negative experience was when someone called in before us and ordered a huge amount of pizza pies, and they didn't alert us that it would take a while for our pizza to get baked. The food is good.

“They make the best sandwiches”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

I almost hate to post this for fear more people will go there. But all of their food is good. But I think their sandwiches are the best.

“The best pizza in Northern Virginia. Period.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2011

We've been in love with Mama Lucia for years. They're one of the best kept secrets for pizza in NoVa. My neighbors would probably kill me for telling others about it and making the lines even longer than they already are, but the place knows how to make a NY pizza. It's owned by Italians; and Italians work there. The pizza is outstanding and I lived in NY for six years--and ate a lot of pizza there. Yes, it's a storefront place with a few tables near a movie theatre. Yes, they don't deliver; you gotta pick up. But, yes, it's the best pizza I've eaten in the DC area.

“Great place for a quick slice of NY style”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2011

Mama Lucia in the Fair City Mall is not an obvious place - I did not even realize it was there until I went in to see a movie at the Cinema Arts theater. The format is counter-service, where you order at the counter then take-out or eat at the tables in the restaurant or courtyard. They have the standard Italian pasta, parmesan dishes as well as subs, pizza and calzone. I can only rate their pizza since that is what I routinely get there. It is good NY style, with thin chewy crust and cheese that practically drips off the slice. MMMMM-mmmm!

This is probably not the place to take someone on a romantic first date, but if you are going to a movie at the Cinema Arts theater, or in the area and need a quick lunch, I highly recommend Mama Lucia's.
