This hotel was conveniently located for shopping & dining out. The rooms were very comfortable with full kitchen amenities & very clean. The bathrooms are roomy with plenty of plush towels. And if you dont care whats on TV for the evening, they even have free movie rentals. The laundry facilities are free and always open. The fitness room has several pieces of great exercising equipment. But best of all is the very friendly staff who try to go out of there way to meet your needs and make your stay a truly enjoyable & comfortable one. Like I said, ---- its like a home away from home.

One of the worst hotels in Fairfax. The front desk was very unfriendly and didnt even get up from their chair to check me in. No smiles, very cold employees. The room was outdated and cold. The furniture was torn, stained, and old looking. No breakfast, no maid service, no pool, and the place was hard to find. It's out of the way and NOTHING is within walking distance. The fridge in my room had a spot of mold growing in the door and the sheets had hair in them. This hotel was just gross and unclean. I ended my stay early and went to another hotel.

The Candlewood Suites in Fairfax, VA is a very convenient and price conscious short or long term stay hotel that has a staff which is remarkably friendly, helpful and curtious. My wife and I stay at this hotel on many occasions and we have had several relatives stay there also. The small convenience store called the Cupbord is well stocked albit sometimes a bit pricey for certain items. The hotel offers free laundry facilities and a workout room that has a good equipment to guests. Althought there is no business center yet, the staff is more than happy to help at getting or poviding whatever business associated items or services may be needed to include simple supplies or handling copies or faxsimilies. We have been staying off and on at the Candlewood Suites in Fairfax, VA for almost 3 year now and look forward to each stay we have with them.

Staff were extremely friendly and really really helpful. Quality of kitchen utensils was excellent,eg non stick frying pan - most suites i have stayed in, in the past have not been fully equipped and have cheap utensils. i needed help withthe dvd the engineer was at my door in less than 10 mins, other suites have made me wait almost all day. I also needed assistance for printing my boarding pass front desk were happy to help, again i stayed at another suite and was sent to 'Kinko' to print it myself. I travel to Washington frequently and have stayed in a wide range of suites - believe me i will never stay anywhere else again, since having this fantastic experience i will always stay here. I cannot recommend it enough - my only regret is that i didn't find it earlier

By no means was this a bad property but then again it was far from perfect. The room i was given was large with a seperate bedroom area. Furnishings were newer and clean albeit somewhat low budget. The carpet was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The high speed internet, while an archaic wired connection, was reliable and very fast. The kitchen area was also clean and well maintained.

The couple negatives i had with this hotel were the hard to maintain temperature thermostat and the bathroom which while functional was not very pretty to look at. The fixtures were old with visible rust. There was water damage above the shower area that it appears they let a preschooler have a go at repairing. The tub was also quite old and unappealing.

Would i stay here again? I suppose i would but it wouldn't be with a tremendous amount of enthusiasm.

Since I prefer to make my own breakfast, this is a good hotel for me. Good location (close to 50 and 66), clean, kitchen is well stocked, and the rooms are a good size. The gym only has 3 pieces of equipment though, but it's better than nothing for the price. There is free laundry as well which is convenient. The front desk is manned with only one person usually, and it's closed late at night, so getting help might be difficult.

This was our second trip to Fairfax this year for college-related visits. As our son will be attending nearby George Mason University in the fall, we'll be back in town a fair amount over the next few years and Candlewood Suites will always be our first choice. The staff is very friendly and accomodating and the rooms are large, clean and comfortable. Also--the location--in a nice residential area--is very convenient and fairly quiet. The hotel was getting new carpet and paint during our stay, so it's clear they're not afraid to spend a few dollars to keep the place looking fresh. Highly recommended!
