Can only speak for the flatbreads.. They are very good. Went on a Friday night around six, had to wait about 10 minutes for a table, not bad and service was very good. They do have call ahead as well if plan to go at a busy time.

I've been put off of the Great American Restaurants network for the past few years, following some wretched experiences. We tried Ozzie's for the first time almost by accident: a "had to be" meeting place for lunch. Well, you are not going to mistake this for a little trattoria in Trastevere, but it does a solid job on flatbread pizzas and salads in a "sanitized" bistro environment that's a cut above the average suburban middlebrow restaurant, in atmosphere, decor and food. Decent pours of wine at sane prices (unlike some of the restaurants in this wildly over-hyped network). Service was acceptable and friendly. So...if you're in Fairfax and feel like a decent yuppie-ized Italian lunch, trust me, you could do worse (hang around Fairfax much, and you will, indeed, do worse...amazing, how all that wealth can't attract much really good chow). Overall, I'd only go to Ozzie's in the evening if I wanted to stick to a big salad, maybe split a bruschetta...but it's a sound lunch choice if you're in for a movie or some outdoor gear at REI.

Restaurants always have difficulty handling large groups but Ozzies sat us down re-arranged the table for 20 of us and the food, all a la carte came good and fast.

Service was friendly and efficient and the menu covered most of what we all wanted. I'm not sure it's especially Italian in style but nonetheless it did the job.

Value was OK and the wine and drinks covered all that we needed.

We'd go back again as a group. Several times we've been messed around in large numbers but they were geared up for groups and did the job well.

This place is the worse representative of the Great American chain. My husband or I have both been ill after eating here. The food is overly salty, and tends to be very heavy on the butter/oil.

Based on how it looked from the its outside, we were a little surprised at just how big this upscale Italian restaurant actually was, their menu was full of tempting dishes, their prices were reasonable given the quality of food, service, and atmosphere, and we found the alcove with bench seating we were seated at was unusually comfortable. As some other reviewers have noted, there was a fair amount of noise ( since the place was pretty full), so this wasn’t the place for a quiet, intimate meal. I can also report that their men’s bathroom was upscale, large, and spotless.

We shared a small antipasto plate, and their “small” was enough for two. My wife ordered a parmesan crusted fish dish which she pronounced excellent, my short rib ragu on polenta was equally excellent, and portions were plentiful. We had an appointment to make, asked for speedy service, and we got it. All around, an excellent place.

Passing wait staff would pick up dishes as we were finished with them, we did not have to wait for “our” waiter to come by to pick them up, as has been our experience in most restaurants. Moreover, we noted that many members of the wait staff—right-sized for this large, busy restaurant so that we had no excessively long waits-- were actually smiling, as if they enjoyed their jobs, rather than displaying the usual expressions, body language ,and attitudes that told us that that had been condemned to this job, which is quite often what we encounter.

So, this is a happy ship.
