There are a number of very good Indian restaurants in the Northern Virginia area, and this probably is not one of the top three, but it's still quite good. It's rather small, so come early or make reservations. The wine selection is decent (better than usual for an Indian place) and the food is tasty. Oddly for an Indian restaurant, they have a really good crème brule for dessert (at least they did the last time we went). We like to eat dinner here and then go over to the Wine House for post-dinner wine. I wouldn't recommend going with kids. They used to have great deals on resteraunt.com where you could get a $25 gift certificate on sale for $2. I don't know if they still do.
