“Well presented and interesting museum”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2013

An excellent museum exhibiting an endless array of various firearms. When we visited, we didn't have enough time to really look, read, nor use the educational kiosks that stood near many of the exhibits. Nonetheless, if you are into firearms, their development and their history, this museum has lots to offer. I personally enjoyed the shotgun exhibits, and the firearms in Hollywood movies section. Signing the papers not to post any photos publicly (ie Facebook etc) was a bit odd, but kindly asked by the greeter/guard at the front reception desk so it didn't take away from the experience for us. Firearms have been a part of our frontier history, world conflicts and epic battles that have shaped our nations, president's past times, and movie lore. This museum presents them for our education and appreciation. I don't think it should matter whether you are pro gun or anti gun. Admission is free, donation kiosks are discretely placed if you wish to make a voluntary contribution.

“If you like guns and can stand the politics it is an intereting museum”

Dislike its association with the NRA and hate to give them a penny. However, the visiting guys and my husband enjoyed looking at the gun displays. It was nearby, easy to get to and got them out of the house

“Interesting but odd”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 26, 2013 via mobile

Odd location. Bottom floor of a 1970s low-rise office building.

Strange policy. Everyone who enters must sign a contract swearing not to post any photos taken in the museum on line. In the contract they specify "or in a blog." Clearly NRA isn't proud of their museum. It's as if you are touring a slaughter house and prohibited from photographing the dead animals.

Amazing collection of firearms displayed beautifully. Every conceivable type of gun dating back hundreds of years. Gun enthusiast or not, you'll be fascinated by the collection. Interior of the museum is beautiful. You almost expect to find some old southern senators sitting around smoking pipes and cigars.

If you love guns you'll be in heaven at this museum. If you have no interest in guns you'll be amazed by how elegantly guns can be shown. If you are 100% anti-gun, you'll still find the museum interesting.

It was very interesting. My husband always visits while I work when we go to Fairfax. He also likes to visit the NRA store.

“Excellent Experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 30, 2013

The National Firearms Museum if "Fantastic". You are met by the most friendly security staff I have ever met. This fellow was extremely friendly and helpful. He explained the layout of the museum, location of gift shop, washrooms. You walk throughout the museum and see the most remarkable collection of antique firearms, private collections I have ever seen in my travels. The displays are excellent. You can take pictures in the museum after you sign a waiver. The Section with firearms from films is well displayed. You don't have to be a gun freak to appreciate this collection of firearms. Enjoy!
