“Great gyros & homemade Hummus”
Reviewed April 6, 2013 via mobile

We had a very enjoyable family meal. We all had gyros and an appetizer of homemade hummus. Four of us eat for $ 75. We would definitely go back again to this casual restaurant.

“Very pleased”
Reviewed March 5, 2013

My husband had the fried green tomatoes appetizer and Moussaka. I was glad I ordered the Gyro sandwich and not the dinner, which would have been way too much for me. We are very pleased we finally tried Atheneans and look forward to returning. The waitress was very pleasant, helpful, and aimed to please.

“Try the tzatzicki!”
Reviewed November 16, 2012

Best tasting tzatzicki I've had in this country (yes, country - not county!). A slightly different recipe than I'm used to but it was delicious. The Eggplant Parm pleased my wife. I had the Pastitsio - not quite as good as in Europe but was a generous portion and still tasty. The Saganaki was a nice portion as well. Our waitress was the nicest one we've been privilieged to have in quite a while - always had a smile, kept eye contact rather than interrupting, promptly got answers to questions, - generally great!

Going back ASAP!

“Good Pizza”
Reviewed October 22, 2012

We ordered fried mushrooms for an appetizer. They were good, you could tell they weren't pre-made. But it was almost $8 for 8-10 mushrooms, a little much. The pizza was great. They are very generous with their toppings.

“Tasty lunch with plenty of dessert options”
Reviewed October 20, 2012

I had the house special for lunch: Pastitsio, for $7.95. It is similar to lasagne. Came with salad and garlic bread. It was so delicious! Instead of flat pasta, there is penne noodles stacked and baked.
Like many Greek establishments, there is a great-looking dessert case filled with cheese cake, pies, chocolate cakes and more.
Also, the owner is tied to the Aberdeen Barn (Charlottesville's premier Prime Rib restaurant) - our lunch was served on plates from there.
