Small town, but big talent. Wonderful showcase for local artisans. We visited late in the day but the ladies working there were gracious and welcoming. Since we arrived late, we did not have a lot of time to browse, but it will definitely be a place to return to, perhaps just before Christmas for gift shopping?

My husband, Mack Rowe, and I visited Clifton Forge last week to celebrate his Second Place and Honorable Mention Awards in the current Alleghany Highlands Arts & Crafts Center Art Show! Director Nancy Newhart greeted us warmly and introduced us to other winners and artists who gathered to talk and pose for a group photo that will be featured in Clifton Forge's local newspaper. In all, the show, which continues until December 2, 2017, offers 125 paintings and artworks.

This Gallery is gorgeous! It boasts a bright, beautiful gift shop filled with amazing, unusual crafts - all hand made - and offers several large rooms of artwork each painting beautifully lighted. It's a fun place to visit - and shop! Everyone there is very friendly, and my husband found two lovely pairs of earrings to buy and hide away as a Christmas present for me.

Nancy is so helpful and recently sent us the news that an additional six of Mack's paintings have been juried and accepted as part of an ongoing display in the Gallery, which also offers many ongoing art classes.

Being part of this lively Gallery is a very special experience for us, and we look forward to future visits to Clifton Forge, which we have found to be a very welcoming town filled with friendly folks everywhere we went!

After reading the reviews on Trip Advisor, we went out of our way to visit this venue. We really enjoyed browsing through all of the different items on sale. Both couples purchased a few items. Very fun place!

Enjoyed seeing all unique the art, wood work and jewelry. Some of the pieces took a lot of creativity and time to make. I will be going back.

I am not a big craft person, but I am a local-color person who enjoys checking out cultural destinations. This one is really boring, but I accept that this is a matter of taste.
