“Bait and Switch”
Reviewed August 23, 2013

Really wanted to have an all-you-can-eat blue crab feast on our final evening in Chincoteague, and worked hard to make it happen here. Went by in person in the afternoon to make sure they would have blues; nobody answered the door. Called at 5 and spoke at length to the person who answered, confirmed that they had Chesapeake blues, and that they were medium in size. The restaurant doesn't take reservations, so we got there a little before 6, told the hostess we were there for the crab feast, and were given a buzzer. When it went off a half hour later, we were seated -- and told they were out of the crabs we wanted. We ordered a broiled seafood platter, and it was fine, but I was really disappointed not to get what we came for, especially under the circumstances. I told the hostess I wanted to speak to the manager about our experience, and was told he was in the kitchen. Apparently he's unreachable there (what's up with that?), because we never got a chance to talk to him. Unacceptable all around.

“Late night eating”
Reviewed August 23, 2013

After attending a very enjoyable concert at the Island Coffeehouse, sponsored by the Chincoteague Cultural Alliance, we didn't have may choices for dinner late on a Saturday night in Chincoteague. Glad we found Steamers. The restaurant section was closed by the time we got there but we were able to order from a large menu at the bar. We had crab balls and steamed shrimp and they both were excellent. Several tap beers to chose from. Will go back even if it isn't late at night!

“Dinner at Steamers”
Reviewed August 21, 2013

All you can eat seafood - what more can you ask for. It was pretty expensive & we had our sons with us so none of us went for that. I ordered the steamer pot instead which was delicious. But it would have been nice to be told that it was big enough for 2. There must have been over 60 shrimp in there, a big bag of clams & I ordered it with Bluepoint crabs (a mistake - too much work for too little meat) & there were at least 6 of those in the pot. Get it, but make sure you either haven't eaten in a week or share it with at least 1 other person! 3 could probably get full on it. All the sides were were fresh & delicious.

“Wonderful seafood”

Great fresh seafood beverages plus good service! However, long wait for table if you arrive at wrong time. Take out available but not tried
