The owners of this B&B are very nice and helpful. The inn is beautiful and our room (#10) was very spacious. The inn is located right off main street so very close to the downtown area. I would recommend this inn and would stay here again.

the only con: no TV in the room and a few maintenance issues needed

Thank you for writing a review on TripAdvisor. We really enjoyed having you to stay, with us at the Channel Bass Innand do hope you come again. Next time, however, we'll be sure to recommend a room with a TV - both the Wetherby and the Ambleside Suites have TVs in the room, and probably our new room - The Room with No Name - will have TV before too long.

By the way, David fixed the maintenance problem in the bathroom as soon as you pointed it out to him. . We do our very best to keep the Inn as trouble-free as possible, but problems do arise from time to time and we thank you for bringing it to our attention.

We wish you safe travels on your Harley!!

Stayed recently for the swimming of the ponies, but had a wonderful time with Barbara and David. We stayed in the Wetherby suite, which is large and well appointed with a comfortable bed. Had the opportunity to have Tea as well. Not to be missed! Had a difficult time eating dinner after that. Convenient to walk the downtown area. Parking is close by in public lot. Enjoyed the other guests as well, with interesting breakfast conversations.

My wife and I spent our 1 year anniversary here and had an absolute wonderful time here! Barbara and David are such nice and welcoming hosts. We thought the communal table style was a great format and got to chat with the other guests. The area is a great small town with lots to do within biking or scooter distance! Would recommend to anybody looking to spend a relaxing and romantic getaway!

The older we get and the more we travel, we have learned that 9 times out of 10, "you get what you pay for." My partner and I stayed in the Wetherby Suite for 5 days earlier this month and left with absolutely no regrets. The suite was huge and we enjoyed having the front room where we could relax comfortably and watch TV in the evenings. Barbara and David are wonderful, warm hosts and offer the perfect non-generic beach accommodations, yet complete with all the things you need for the beach -- umbrella, chair, towels, cooler, beach toys, etc. At breakfast, David's fruit surprises and Barbara's cooking and baking will fill you up for the day.....and when you are ready for dinner, be sure to let Barbara reserve you a "Barbara table" wherever you dine. Spring for the Afternoon Tea, a worth while indulgence!

What a wonderful stay! Delicious breakfasts, great conversation, and a not-to-be missed tea! Barbara and David are fantastic hosts! We very much enjoyed the communal table style and chatting with the other guests over the morning breakfast (9am).

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Channel Bass Inn for a short getaway to escape the busy hustle and bustle on New York City. We could not have picked a more perfect place! Every aspect of our stay was absolutely delightful. Truthfully I do not know where to start, between the warm hospitality from Barbara and David, the delicious (and never ending) breakfast, and the overall charm of the Inn; it was obvious we made the right decision to stay at the CBI. The gourmet breakfasts were wonderful, every morning started off with a variety of fruits and Barbara's homemade breads. Then followed by an always filling and tasty 2-3 course breakfast. Barbara and David were incredibly helpful and generous throughout our stay. They insisted on taking care of all reservations and allowed us to use their beach umbrellas and even their bicycles to explore the island. When we checked out we were given hugs goodbye, and my boyfriend stated "I feel like we are leaving family" . That really does sum up our experience at the Channel Bass, Barbara and David treated us like we were part of their family. They have a true gift for making you feel welcome and completely at home. We will definitely be planning a return visit.

Room Tip: We stayed in the smallest room at the inn, and it was still absolutely perfect and very quiet.

Judging from the many excellent reviews we simply hoped for a pleasant stay at Channel Bass Inn and our wish came true. It is a rarity to find anyone with true passion for their work but Barbara and David are justly stated Inn Keepers “extraordinaire”. Details, kindness, and concern in all matters of one’s stay must be born of passion. Thank you for a special experience.
