Our stay at the Channel Bass Inn left little to be desired. The food, whether served at the four-course Afternoon Tea or the lavish breakfasts, was among the best we've had at any inn, hotel, or restaurant anywhere, ever. Barbara and David are gracious hosts, and we were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. They were especially accommodating of our small dog, who was kept in a state of near-total bliss by a steady stream of homemade dog biscuits and Barbara's affectionate attention. The rooms were clean and well-appointed, and the house's gardens, glimpsed from the windows of our room and from the dining room, were soothing to behold. The inn is within walking distance to shops and restaurants, including a fine record store down the block (for us) and a pet bakery and boutique (for the dog). We met several other couples during our brief visit, and the consensus was that the Channel Bass Inn is not to be missed -- or, for that matter, visited only once.
