“A Wonderful Place to Stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 18, 2012

Our stay at the Channel Bass Inn left little to be desired. The food, whether served at the four-course Afternoon Tea or the lavish breakfasts, was among the best we've had at any inn, hotel, or restaurant anywhere, ever. Barbara and David are gracious hosts, and we were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. They were especially accommodating of our small dog, who was kept in a state of near-total bliss by a steady stream of homemade dog biscuits and Barbara's affectionate attention. The rooms were clean and well-appointed, and the house's gardens, glimpsed from the windows of our room and from the dining room, were soothing to behold. The inn is within walking distance to shops and restaurants, including a fine record store down the block (for us) and a pet bakery and boutique (for the dog). We met several other couples during our brief visit, and the consensus was that the Channel Bass Inn is not to be missed -- or, for that matter, visited only once.

I just returned from visiting Chincoteague with my three children (ages 9,7,6). I was very nervous to stay at a Bed and Breakfast with three kids who can get a little loud and restless, but David and Barbara made us feel so welcomed and were so relaxed with the children that I had no reason to worry. The kids loved that our room was set up with cots for them; usually they are crammed in a hotel bed together...I must mention that I got some of the best sleep ever due to an amazingly comfortable bed. They also loved the gardens where they explored and used their imaginations and the proximity to town and water. We all loved the food it was absolutely delicious! We were so well fed in the morning that we weren't hungry again until Tea Time! A treat all need to experience! We are all ready talking about going back next summer and no doubt we will be staying at the Channel Bass Inn!

One of the best stays I have had at a B&B. Barbara and David are excellent hosts and cooks. Their inn is a warm and friendly place to take a nice relaxing vacation or short break.
I have no idea where the individual who wrote the two point rating stayed, his description was nothing like I encountered during my stay. My room and the inn itself was in excellent condition.
The Channel Bass Inn also has a lovely garden where one can sit and relax. I look forward to my next stay at this superb establishment.

My wife and I stayed with Barbara and David this month for our one year anniversary. We were more than pleased with our one night stay. While one pays for accomadations, there is no price for charm, and we were fortunate to find the Channel Inn. The accomadations were excellent. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean and full of character. Concerning hospitality, how many B&B hosts remember not only your names but that of your little puppy? Only this one! My wife was delighted with the tea time offered in the afternoon and the breakfast was an international delight. Location is very convienent with ample parking behind the B&B. Barbra was helpful in choosing a great resturaunt for dinner that added to our wonderful weekend. This is my first and most likely only post to TripAdvisor, that should tell you how much we enjoyed our stay. If you are looking for a place that feels displaced from the worries of the world, a place that reminds you of another era in time, or just need a place to find peace, you will find it here.

Barbara and David the propeitors are wonderful hosts and made us feel right at home. Breakfast was fantastic, served on fine china and with embroidered linens, They were helpful with finding fun activities and the rooms we stayed in were spotlessly clean. The location is extremely convenient, within walking or biking distance of all the sites and activities. This was my first experience at a B&B and I really enjoyed it.

We celebrated our 10-year anniversary at the Channel Bass Inn. It was relaxing, comfortable and fun! We really enjoyed Barbara's engaging personality! She is an extraordinary innkeeper, who brings life to the party! She danced her way to breakfast and taught us the correct procedures at teatime (she's from England). She and David are wonderful innkeepers. We'd highly recommend attending teatime! The food was out of this world and it was so nice to just take a break and enjoy some adult conversation. (You won't need dinner afterwards). The food was the most outstanding feature offered. We tried many new culinary delights and it was all amazing! The home was clean and quiet throughout our weekend stay. We'd visit again for sure!

This was our first time at a B&B and the setting was perfect in Chincoteage. The breakfasts were yummy and the location near the center of town allowed foe easy walking access to all the quaint shops. Barbara insisted on helping to make reservations at the local restaurants for dinner and we we weren't disappointed one bit.
