As a first time B&B visitor something tells me I've been ruined for other B&Bs. David and Barbara are simply amazing people including being amazing innkeepers. I loved the charm, the food, the ambience, the room, the food, the conversasion, and did I mention the food? Just be sure to "pop" the scone or else..... :o) Simply put, stay here, you will love the experience. If you have ANY question regarding ANYTHING on the island, call Barbara. She knows where to go, who to see, and where to sit at the restaurant of your choice. My only regret is that I didn't take my own advice and call her when I made my dinner reservations.

Room Tip: Call Barbara and David for anything island relate!

Here's a truly nifty B and B in Chincoteague Island, VA. Cozy, welcoming hosts Barbara and David maintain a charming home with a wonderful English Garden behind. They provide delightful breakfasts, which are on the deliciously formal side and very British in style. It's like staying with a benevolent relative who takes absolute total care of you. (Don't cut the wonderful scones with a knife,, but break them in half and slather them with jam and, yes , whipped cream!!! Glorious!) The hosts welcome people of all ages( from 6 on up when we were there, and even a small dog, but ask first about that!) and find interesting connections with all of them. Expect to be part of an ever-changing family when you are there, and enjoy your stay. You won't find another B and B like this one!

Barbara and David are the ultimate innkeepers! Barbara welcomes you with a hug and a smile as soon as you arrive. She shows genuine interest in all of her guests and makes you feel like you are family. Her cooking is out of this world and you will come home feeling so relaxed and well fed. David is the man of all trades and will help you navigate around the island as well as get your bikes for you to ride anywhere. The food is unbelievable and Barbara ensures you get the best dinner accomodations as well and makes the reservation for you. If you want to get away to a place that is quiet, comfortable, but yet elegant, this is the place for you.

Room Tip: They are all beautiful.

My husband and I will try to stay longer next time. Afternoon tea and the interaction with other guests were highlights of the visit. Barbara is an excellent baker. Scones and "stuffed money" were excellent. (No monkeys harmed, just dried fruit.)

Our room was beautiful and functional. Comfortable bed and linens.

Barbara listened to our interests, and made recommendations or reservations accordingly. The ability to chat with other guests also helped us make the most of our trip. Where to eat, where to buy locally beach-combed whelk shells, the boat tour, refuge, etc.

It's a European-style of hospitality; Barbara spoke English, French, German, and Dutch during our stay. You will feel like an old friend or relative in short order.
