One of the main reasons we head for Chincoteague Island for a relaxing weekend is this restaurant! The service is great, and the food is quite good. The steamed shrimp may be the best in the area. Yes, it is old, dilapadated, and the service can be a bit slow, but that's just because it is a popular place, and the waitresses and staff are working hard. Sitting at a table by the window, watching the sunset over Chincoteague Bay, and conversing with the laughing gulls make this an experience we are definitely going to miss (yes it is closing soon). We always look for a place where the locals hang out, and this is it. I can see the point of some of the other reviews, but if you want to go to an Applebee's or a similar boring look-a-like, go for it. I can't imagine we'll enjoy the sterile atmosphere of it's replacement nearly as well, and will look for another place to call home when we're in Chincoteague.
