This is a really new place, but it is set up well and shows the history of the island - all aspects of it. The stuffed horses are kind of creepy, but a thrill since I loved Misty when I was a kid. There is a real fresnel lens from the lighthouse, and it is rare these days to see a real one. Photos and exhibits are great. The scavenger hunt was actually fun - and I noticed a lot more things than I would have otherwise. Small gift shop doesn't overtake the exhibits. Very nice staff!

A small but informative museum. Learn about the history of the island and see the real (preserved) Misty and Stormy. Doesn't take much time to see everything so definately worth it to stop in.

This was a great place to stop and get to see some of the history of Chincoteague. What a fascinating history for this area. We are glad we made the stop. Plus, the scavenger hunt was great!

Small but very well done. Anyone who ever ready the book Misty has to go! She is there along with her foal Stormy, my children were thrilled and enjoyed a scavenger hunt which the museum offers. Many other interesting exhibits and staff very full of knowledge. A must see!

every time we are in Chincoteague, we say we want to find Misty and see her. This year we did just that. Misty and Stormy are in the museum along with a lot of interesting exhibits about the island. It was fun for the kids because besides the interesting things to look at they offer a "scavenger" hunt for the kids to do. We were there with our family, and the scavenger hunt was fun for everyone. Didn't take that long, was a chance to get inside away from the mosquitos, and the price was great. $3 for adults and children were free (cant remember what the age is when it isn't free)
