We stayed here for 2 nights on our first trip to Chincoteague. The Inn is starting to show it's age but everything in the room was very clean. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful, quick check-in and lots of information. Breakfast was nice, including waffles, eggs and sausage patties along with the usual toast and muffins. Only drawback was that breakfast was served in the small lobby area where you check in and out and was very crowded with no place to sit on the 2 mornings I visited.
My only major complaint was that the beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable to the point that I tried sleeping on the sofa. If you like VERY firm mattresses you will be happy.

Room Tip: If you stay on the first floor you will be looking at the water through grass and bushes.

We had difficulty, at the last minute, finding an available reasonably priced room for Oyster Festival Weekend. Waterside Inn is waterside overlooking the bay. Boat slips available for guests. Pool was heated and clean, nicely situated bayside. Every room has a small balcony with two chairs and an end table. Great for wet suits and towels, as well as enjoying the waterview from an upper floor. There were outdoor BBQ grills and picnic tables, near the pool area, available for use. A small work-out room and hot tub were on the second floor. We did not use these. The room was an average size, with the bonus of a sink/vanity in addition to the full bathroom. Under-the-counter fridge and a microwave were also in the room. Breakfast was ok. Waffles made to order were the highlight. Apples were available as well as pastries , pre-made egg omlette, sausage patties, juices, coffee and tea. Front desk staff were friendly. "Downtown" shopping district and restaurants were an easy walk.

Room Tip: Would strongly suggest a top floor room, as footsteps could be heard easily in our first floor room...

We visited Chincoteague over Labor Day and so our selections were limited, but we definitely chose well with the Waterside. Within walking distance of downtown Chincoteague, where I think the Waterside excelled was with its service. Very personable, very helpful. You felt you were staying at a B&B and not a hotel.

Excellent amenities including in-room fridge, a very good breakfast (do NOT pass up the waffles), decent pool, hot tub with view, pier and several grills for your use. Each room has a balcony and don't miss the ducks hanging out in the morning. And the roses do really help making the parking area feel special.

Only reason the Waterside didn't get a full five stars is because I felt the rooms were starting to get a little dated. But it wouldn't stop me from staying there again.

My wife and I read the Trip Advisor reviews and decided that this is the place to stay for a last minute trip to the area. We were NOT disappointed. We called ahead to reserve a room and Alyssa, at the front desk, was very friendly and informative. When we arrived, around 9PM, we got a nice greeting from her. She told us all about breakfast, which sounded too good to pass up. The room was very clean, and had a nice view from the rear door, which opens onto a deck. There is a screen door, so you can listen to the seagulls all night if you'd like to. There is a fishing dock right behind the motel, and there is ample parking. The building is 3 stories and there is an elevator. The place is very well lighted, comfortable, safe, and quiet, at least at this time of the year. It is obviously well run, and someone has a real green thumb for the most spectacular roses. The beds were very comfortable. Breakfast consisted of delicious waffles, cold cereals, coffee, juices, and assorted other goodies. There are only 2 tables in the office/dining area, but they are quite suitable. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful, as well as knowledgeable about the are. This is a "happy place" and we will definitely return if we go back to Chincoteague Island.

Room Tip: From the 1st to the 3rd floor, the rooms get more expensive, as the view gets better. We were on the...

My wife and I have stayed here twice...two years ago in September 2010 and again in September 2012. Very clean room complete with a private balcony, refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot and so much more. The balcony faces the bay and magnificent sunsets can be seen right from your room. The free breakfast in the lobby every morning was another plus.

This was our second visit to Waterside Inn. The staff is very helpful. The rooms are very clean & comfortable. The small refridgerator & microwave was welcomed, as we enjoyed lunch in our room. The view from balcony is wonderful. My husband & uncle enjoyed crabbing & fishing from the pier. The swimming pool was very inviteing. The continental breakfast was more than enough. Included individually Belgan waffles made at your request, scrambled eggs, sausage, toast, bagels, muffins, fresh fruit, cereal, juice, coffee, & tea.
We appreciate the fall special.
We are looking forward to our next visit. Wish we could go more often.

Room Tip: I feel all rooms are great, but the 2nd floor meets our needs. Beautiful views & quiet.

Beautiful view overlooking the water from a private balcony for each room. Friendly staff, clean rooms, large pool, fishing pier and dock. Jaccuzi and workout room in a nice solarium. Fridge and microwave very convenient for a long weekend getaway. We loved it!
