There were pros and cons to this motel. There is good overall value here but the place could use some updating. The hotel was clean, staff friendly, refrigerator in room, LCD TV in room (not high def feed though), beautiful views from balcony, nice bayside pool. The pool was not at all crowded.
The place could use some love. The rooms were outdated, the bathroom was vintage 1965. Beds a little hard, linens not so soft. Breakfast was included but I wish they would have charged less and let me go out to eat. Two or three small tables in a small reception area, all were full. Eggs were formed discs of eggbeaters or something. The waffles were decent. We had to eat in the parking lot in the baking sun.
I wanted to stay at the Hampton Inn which is brand new, all rooms were booked. One thing about Chincoteague is that the accommodations seem to all date back to the 60's and 70's. Aside from the Hampton Inn, I didn't see a lot of new hotels. You don't spend a lot of time in your hotel assuming the weather is good, the place has spectacular scenic beauty. The beach at Assateague was awesome, as were the glimpses of the wild ponies.
I would stay here again, but only if the Hampton Inn had no vacancy.More
