My sisters and I stayed here for a long weekend vacation. The room was very nice, perfect for the four of us, and very comfortable! The balcony overlooked the pool and had a great view of the Assateague Lighthouse. The free continental breakfasts were delicious, and there was more than enough food for all of the guests who showed up. The staff members we had the pleasure of dealing with were all very helpful and very courteous. One of the best parts of the stay was the delicious lemonade that was available around-the-clock in the hotel lobby. I will definitely be staying at this hotel again (and again and again)!

We stayed for one night, the location is good for quick access via bike to the preserve. The bike rental was great and saved us from bringing ours along! However, the costs associated with the room were quite high for a Sunday night. In addtion, there was no flat screen TV in the room, being a somewhat high-end hotel I thought they would have upgraded by now. The breakfast was OK, pretty much standard fare...

Although the rates are a bit high (higher than other Best Western hotels) which is mainly due to its location, this hotel is excellent! very clean, well located (the closest to the beaches) and has a nice and confortable outdoor patio (ideal for having breakfast and avoiding the too crowded breafast room in the morning). We recommand this hotel!

We have stayed here twice in the past two years. This week was particularly busy. We are described as senior citizens but, in our opinion, we really, are not. However, our first of 4 nights was spent on the 2d of 3 floors and we had the pleasure of the patter of Chincoteague pony patter of little hooves overhead from 6P until..... The lodge was full and we were unable to change our room that night, but the incredibly accommodating folks at the front desk were able to somehow move us up to the 3d floor our 2d night. We know that took some doing. The temps were in the 100 degree range in the front of the lodge and our air conditioning left something to be desired, but our room and bathroom was spotless and,of course the breakfast was lovely and the daily amenities of chilled lemonade and fresh fruit basket in the lobby makes us feel welcomed all day. However on night #3 we had a false alarm fire and we were all outside at midnight, smelling acrid smoke. As it turned out, it was a massive fire in the Great Dismal Swamp many miles away that triggered the alarm. Tonight is our last night here. We had a great stay and will, despite some bumps in the road, stay here again. We are a bike ride away from one of the most wonderful national park beaches in the mid Atlantic. I wish I could "dis" this wonderful place, to keep people away in order to keep the Best Western and Chincoteague National Park to ourselves. I cannot. I hope we can find availability next summer.

We stayed on a weekend trip to VA the end of July. This was a great hotel. It was clean, quiet and we had a large room. I would stay there again anytime.

Cannot recommend this hotel enough. Fantastic rooms (spotlessly clean and tastefully furnished), exceptionally friendly and helpful staff and probably the best located hotel on the island. Our short trip to Chinqoteague Island meant that we only had time to stay one night, but would have been happy to stay there for a whole week. We hired bikes and cycled to the beautiful beach and around the pretty town, saw fantastic birds and wildlife, eat in a great fish restaurant all within less than 24 hours, but enjoyed every minute !

We loved our stay at the Best Western Chincoteague Island! We reserved our room several weeks in advance. I usually do all my reservations on the internet, but I chose to call to clarify the room types. Since we were traveling with family we decided to stay in the "Papa John Suite." The room was great! There was a main room with a queen bed, sitting area and a kitchenette. There was also a bedroom with a queen bed and a set of bunk beds. The bathroom was huge and included a good size hot tub. The room had a balcony with a nice distant view of the lighthouse. The room was well maintained and very clean.

The highlight of this property is the service. From the moment we checked in we were treated kindly. The front desk was always staffed with two people. They were very helpful in directing us to local attractions. The maintainence staff and cleaning staff were also friendly and efficient. Our mini fridge was not cooling well. A staff member immediately came to our room. When we returned a couple of hours later a new fridge was in place. A dish of candy was sitting there on the counter with a note of apology for the inconvenience. They went above and beyond our expectations.

The hotel is the closest location to the national park. There is a "park like" environment all around you. The landscaping is attractive and creates a feeling of relaxation. The pool was a good size and sparkling clean.

The morning breakfast was great. There was a very nice selection of items. They varied options each morning which was nice since we stayed four days. The ladies that maintained the breakfast area treated us like family.

I do need to note that we were visiting in the "off season" in the spring. The weather was great but I am sure the area is much more crowded during the summer. I felt like we had the town to ourselves.

I would highly recommend the Best Western Plus Chincoteague. We plan to make it a regular part of our spring family getaways in the future.

Room Tip: The "Papa John Suite" is great for traveling families. Sleeps six in comfort and with a...
