“first class tour”

last week we went on a tour with captain charlie. I have been in the service business (home inspector) for 25 years and i understand customer delight - and charlie delivered 100%. He was perfect. Great ability to put the customer at ease, great humor, a little showmanship - but not too much, and a great teacher, and most important was his love for his job and helping people to see the beauty that he sees.

“Great Photography Opportunity”
Reviewed October 3, 2013

This past weekend CC&NT took my wife and I out for sunset and sunrise photo shoots of the ponies. Capt. Charlie listened carefully to what we were looking for and delivered 100%. He found the ponies and Mother Nature delivered the light. The comfortable (and dry) Carolina Skiff was brought close to shore where we were able to safely hop off and mingle among the ponies. If you're a serious photographer looking for a captain who'll go the extra distance to get great shots, Charlie is the one to call. We'll be back!

“Captain Charlie is #1”
Reviewed October 3, 2013

My daughter and I always try to take a short vacation in September. This year we decided to go to a place we had never been before. When I called the Chamber of Commerce on Chincoteague the woman suggested a boat tour. I checked Trip Advisor for ratings and comments. EVERYTHING that has been said about Captain Charlie is true and then some. Normally September is not a busy time for the tours, but the good captain was willing to help us to see the ponies and some birds so my daughter could get some good photos of Egrets. We shared our tour with Rubin and Sue from Tennessee and the memories we took away from the tour will last a lifetime. I will say that our tour was far from average and I believe we were very lucky to see so much. That said, Captain Charlie made sure we had a good tour and would do the same for anyone. Dolphins, Egrets, Eagles and the ponies! We learned so much about the oyster and clam farms in the bay. Captain Charlie is a native son and although he did leave the island for a career, he is back and has so much knowledge it is like going on a boat trip with someone you have known forever. Reasonably priced, he has patience with everyone, answers questions, tells great stories and would do well with all ages. I believe the four of us on the tour would all agree that we learned new things, heard some great stories, enjoyed our time together and felt we were treated like royalty.

“A wonderful vacation”
Reviewed September 10, 2013

We want to let everyone know what a great trip we had to Chincoteague the first week of June. Our oldest daughter had just graduated from College and our youngest had just become a high school senior and we wanted a trip that both would remember and that had some memories for each. Both of our girls are horse lovers and had read the entire Margaret Henry series on the Chincoteague ponies when they were little.
We decided during our week to see the island by boat. We could not have been more pleased with our choice. We had some stormy weather possibly moving in and some low tides to deal with but the overall experience and Captain Charlie's knowledge were tops! Thanks for a great trip and some wonderful memories for all of us.
