We were traveling with our dog, and this hotel was the most accomodating we have found. Most hotel chains indicate they're pet friendly, then want to charge you $50-100 for a stay. Hampton Inn did not, as there was no charge for our pet and area outside was very well lit, and safe. Next, I spend over 100 nights on the road annually, and appreciate a good on site work out facility, healthy hot breakfast, safe walk to nearby restaurants, easy on/off highways, and clean, quiet rooms. This Hampton excelled at all of these. This is a very nice hotel which I would return to, on business or pleasure.

Room Tip: The rooms for pets are first floor and close to the exit. Very Convenient.

We know what a great hotel and staff we have here on Battlefield Blvd, right off of interstate 64 with so many convenient restaurants and shops; thank you for sharing this with the public! We are happy to welcome our guest and their pets as well. We are one of the few hotels that do not charge a fee for pets. Thank you for making us your preferred hotel in Chesapeake; its reviews like this that helped us get to the #1 hotel in the area! We look forward to your next visit with us.

Hampton Inn advertises three grades (soft, medium, firm) of pillows per bed. We have always found this to be true in the past. However, this time the house keeper either grabbed the nearest six pillows or it is time for new ones. All were very flat.

Is it OK to tip the lady who manages breakfast? Does a great job. Keeps her cool when a family of six shows up five minutes before closing. Hampton Inn provides a real breakfast.

Battlefield Blvd needed a Hampton Inn.

I regret that you had a poor experience with the water pressure and pillows. We are dedicated to constant improvement in order to better serve our guests. We will certainly look into ways to improve water pressure on the higher floors and make sure that we dispose of pillows that have passed their prime, so to speak. Nice clean rooms, comfortable beds, good workout facilities and pool. Loved the breakfast. Very good price. In the heart of everything.

Second visit to this Hampton Inn. We regularly plan to stay at Hampton Inns whenever we travel so we've established a high standard for them. This Hampton Inn exceeded even that high standard. Great location with easy access to major interstates and plenty of nearby businesses. We'll definitately stay here again when we visit our family. Keep up the great work.

Hubby and I stayed at this Hampton Inn property for four nights in Nov. 2011 to visit family in the area. We prefer Hampton Inns for sure, but this property was especially nice. It is one of the newest ones in the chain in the area, so all the furnishings, decor, and room were in good shape. Very, very clean, and the beds were so, so comfortable. We make extra demands on housekeeping, and they were pleasant about filling them asap and with a smile. The breakfast hostesses were especially pleasant. It's a busy hotel, and breakfast was full every morning, but the offerings were well stocked and fresh. No one on the staff seemed harried at all. The only downside is the neighborhood, next to a small, old office building, behind and to the side of a large Walmart/Sam's Club complex, and next to the main USPS in Chesapeake. So don't expect any ambience in the locale. It's functional and, at night, the immediate area is a bit deserted and dark. Oh, and the room's thermostat wasn't as sensitive to the temp control as we would have liked, but it certainly worked. Otherwise, we had a great stay and another reminder of why we choose Hampton Inns first. Oh, and we got a great four-day rate through AAA here!

I was placed on the 5th floor. My room had a microwave, and refrigerator. The room was clean. The area where this hotel is located has a lot traffic, but when I closed the door all I hear was the humming of the air condition. The surrounding area has a lot of businesses, SAMs club, TGI Friday, Dollar tree, HH Gregg, Kohls and other businesses within a block or two. Also, about half a mile from the hotel is the Dollar Tree corporate headquarters.

Room Tip: Ask for the Fifts floor.
