Just breakfast and lunch food but all if it was excellent (except the home fries but we were there near closing time so I think we got the end of a batch). Ordered cheeseburger (the everything one), breakfast (gravy and biscuits with eggs and home fries; and eggs, ham, home fries and I think toast), Philly cheese steak and another regular cheese burger. Staff was super nice and the lady that sits you makes sure you get offered to get I think it was "moosied" by taking a picture with moose antlers! Highly recommend just consider trading home fries for something else.

Visited Monticello and were turned off by the loads of bus tours walking into Michie’s Tavern nearby, (plus I cans stand buffets or servers who wear costumes), so we opted for Moose’s having read the good reviews. I’m a bit of a foodie, and sometimes a great diner like this is what the day calls for rather than trying to hunt down gourmet. The location is off the beaten path and the place looks like nothing outside - then you walk in and the place is super clean, old school and run by a friendly group of women.

Simple diner fare - can’t beat a great grilled cheese... GO HERE!

Don’t let the building frighten you away. It’s clean and well decorated on the inside. The people are friendly and the food is good and reasonably priced. Lunch here was lovely-no, it’s not waterfront dining, but the portions are large and tasty. The menu includes breakfast all day (until close at 3,) burgers, soups and sandwiches. I had the chicken philly, it was moist and filled with roasted red papers and sautéed onions; I could not eat all of the shoestring fries!! Desserts are homemade, including the rice pudding! We will definitely return.

Almost didn’t go in but glad we gave it a try! Happy vibe and despite a wait for both the table and longer for the food great friendly place!
Generous family fare - we enjoyed the steak and cheese! The best part of our experience was the people- the owner, the staff and the family of regulars who love the place and know each other! A wonderful college town culture of affordable and good food!

We chose the place based on Tripadvisor reviews but almost didnt go in after arriving at the location. The food was decent but wish we went downtown instead for better atmosphere.
