We liked the Inn just fine. But it was certainly nothing out of the ordinary. Unfortunately, the normal inn keepers were out of town. We had an "inn-sitter" cooking the breakfasts. The breakfasts were average to below average for a bed and breakfast.

If you're looking to meet other vacationers this is the place for you. If you're looking for a quiet, semi-private romantic getaway, you may want to keep looking. The breakfast is served at one community table at a specific time. There are no TV's or other diversions in the Inn. Consequently, people tended to hang out together at the the end of the day in the living room area.

The rooms are nice, but no frills. In sum, the place is fine. We had a nice time, I might recommend it depending on what a person was looking for. But, we're not running back.

This Inn is comfortable, spacious and has an ambiance that sets the mood for Monticello, which is only minutes away. Our bedroom had art, music and a wonderful canopy bed and plenty of closet space. The bathroom was great with all of the amenities one might desire.

WE are wine lovers, and every afternoon we were treated to wine and appetizers, while we chatted with all of the wonderful people at the Inn. The restaurants they recommended for dinner were wonderful, especially the Ivy Inn.

Breakfast was a real treat--gourmet fare, beautifully prepared and presented--fit for a queen or king!

The Inn at Monticello goes out of its way to make a person feel very special. We highly recommend it!

It was our first night on the road and only our second time at a Bed and Breakfast. After a day of travel and sightseeing in western Va., we found the directions to the Inn easy to follow. The Inn is located in a quite rural area in a beautiful setting. We were greeted by our hostess and fellow guest on the front porch. We were shown our room which exceeded our expectations. Beautifly decorated, roomy and comfortable. Our hostess provided refreshment while discussing dinner options in the area. Since it was Sunday our hostess confirmed our restaurant choice was open and made reservations for us. After a lovely dinner in downtown Charlottesville we made the short trip back to the Inn without any problem. We had a great nights sleep. In the morning, we enjoyed good company, good coffee and a great breakfast. We are sorry our itinerary did not allow us a couple of more days in this very relaxing atmosphere.

We heard about the in through an AAA article. After viewing there website we found that it was easy to make reservations on line which were confirmed in a timely manner. We will definitely stay there again when we are in the area.

Very enjoybale stay. The owners Norm and Becky Lindway were very involved in our stay. Gave great suggestions and directions to resturants. We had a room that required going next door to the bath. The bath was private to us.This was really not an issue for us and as a matter of fact if we were to stay there agian we would not have a problem with staying in the same room. We loved the cats but not all visitors may enjoy them. At least you know up front that the cats were there.

When our family of four arrived, we were welcomed by a staff member who immediately made us comfortable. This hospitality and gracious service continued throughout our stay by the Inn Keepers, Becky and Norm. Our girls felt that the cats were adorable.

The rooms were comfortable, nicely decorated, and functional. A special thanks for the WiFi access! The breakfasts were delicious especially the breakfast quiche. Early morning coffee on the porch or in the family room made for a great start to the day. The Inn is in an ideal location for those interested in touring Monticello, Ashland-Highlands, or the downtown area. Becky's touring information led us to change our plan for the better. Thanks!

In summary, the Inn was perfect for our family. We would gladly stay there again.

We chose this inn for its proximity to Monticello and the Michie Tavern. We enjoyed our stay there and would recommend it to anyone else.

Room was nicer than most but no chairs, etc in room. However, there was a couch in the hallway which did allow for me to seat and read after my spouse had gone to bed. Not that it mattered to us, but there was no TV available in the bedrooms nor any other area of the house. Breakfast was wonderful, but a bit too structured (if you intended to eat, then you were to be at the single dining table at 8:30 AM sharp). Location was beautiful as was the house. If you wish to visit Monticello, this place is very convenient. If I decide to visit the historc sites some time in the futue, I'd definitely put this place among my lodging choices. The innkeepers are also very knowledge of area and take the extra step to share their knowledge with you. One drawback: if you are a night owl, you may feel strange in that the owners do not furnish keys to the front door nor your room (i.e., I'm not sure what would happen if you returned from a late night outing at 2 AM in the morning). Also, if you like cats, there are a couple of very friendly ones that live there.

The Inn at Monticello is inspeced and Approved by AAA, The Bed and Breakfast Association of Virginia, and Mobil to name just three. Each organization has high standards which we are proud to have achieved! One such standard is at least two comfortable chairs or couches in each room, 75 watt reading lights etc. All of our rooms have at least these requirements. Our doors and rooms are protected by in room locks, and all guest who want to come in after mid-night are given the combination to the lock on the front door. The Inn prides itself on excellent service and attention to guest needs....don't want the served the gourmet breakfast? would rather stay in bed? Let us know and a light breakfast is served at a later time.
