“Inn at Monticello!!”
Reviewed November 8, 2013

We really enjoyed our stay at the Inn. Bob and Carolyn were very helpful with their suggestions on what to do in Charlottesville. The breakfast was healthy and yummy. Our quarters were well appointed and very comfortable. I wish we could have stayed longer!!

A beautiful, comfortable B&B just near the home of Thomas Jefferson and minutes from downtown Charlottesvile, VA; the home of the University of Virginia. A delicious breakfast each morning served by Jenny was much appreciated. Jenny also offered help with planning our day. She is charming and hospitable. Thank you for a great stay!

My wife and I truly enjoyed our stay at this wonderful B&B and would recommend it highly. We reserved the cottage which is not part of the main home and it was wonderful! It is close to all the many attractions in the area, and the owners recommendations where to dine was marvelous!

Room Tip: Stay in the cottage!

This was our 3rd or 4th time here and we will keep going back. The happy hour, sweats that sit out, if you are lucky to get one before they are eaten :) the privacy, the location and the Innkeepers are all great.

My only issue would be to have more comfortable beds. We did not sleep well at all, but this will not keep us form coming back.

Great place to stay. The inn was located near a number of historical sites and the downtown area. We stayed in a room upstairs in the front of the inn, it was filled with antique furniture. We would highly recommend this inn for anyone wanting to stay at an inn with charm.

We had a little time between a business conference one weekend in Philadelphia and our son's wedding the following weekend in Washington DC so we decided to see five major gardens in four days. This did not give us a great deal of time at The Inn at Monticello -- a shame, because it was the best of the bunch...a place we would have liked to stay longer and explore the area more. Bob and Carol are outstanding as hosts, knowledgeable about the area and willing to put one in touch with others of like interests. The breakfast was delicious and hosts are to be commended for utilizing as much local produce as possible. The apple biscuits came from a nearby farm, which we passed on our way to Monticello.

Room Tip: We stayed in the first floor Jefferson, a convenient bonus for my aging husband.

We visited Charlottesville in October and found the Inn at Monticello to be a warm, inviting place to stay. Our beautiful room was upstairs in the front of the house and was filled with antique furniture but with a modern, tiled bathroom. True to its name, the Inn is very close to Monticello, Ash-Lawn Highland (President Monroe's home), and several wineries. Breakfasts were delicious, with fresh fruit, a savory or sweet main course, home made muffins and jam. In the evenings we were offered wine with snacks, and home made cookies. This is definitely a place for us to return to someday.

Room Tip: Rooms in the front of the house face east and have good black out curtains.
