Mary Pat and John and the Foxfield Inn all get an A+ from us. This is a must stay on your way through Charlottesville as we were, or as destination. You will not be disappointed.

On a recent trip to the Charlottesville area we had reservations at another (that will go unnamed) B&B. Upon arrival at the other B&B we were informed they were overbooked and they recommended The Foxfield Inn. Lucky for us they did, especially after seeing the other B&B first. The Foxfield Inn is located a few minutes from the downtown area but far enough out to give you that country feel. The grounds are just beautiful with a fish pond, flowers, tea room and several areas to sit and enjoy the tranquil settings. The themed rooms were clean and the beds most comfortable. We went with another couple and both of us commented at breakfast what a good night’s sleep we had. You will awake to the smell of fresh coffee and a truly gourmet breakfast. The owners, Mary Pat and John could not have been more pleasant. I’m sure we will visit this B&B again on our next journey.

I highly recommend staying at the Foxfield Inn. My husband and I had a great time. The Innkeepers, Mary Pat and John, go out of their way to make sure all of their guests feel welcome. The accomodations were excellent. If you would like to stay at a bed & breakfast that makes you feel like you are visiting old friends, this is the place for you. It is conveniently located to all the local sites. The food was fantastic. Mary Pat and John have added so many personal touches they are too numerous to mention.

The advertisement you will read is not hype. It is the real thing. We extended our stay by one day for a total of three nights (if you want to see all the history and enjoy the area you need that extra day!). Mary Pat and John are simply superb-doing everything to offer the highest class of hospitality. Their guidance is terrific.

The Inn itself is ultra-clean, cozy, romantic and very modern in terms of technology. Wi-Fi enabled too......although I don't know why anyone would bring along a laptop for a romantic getaway.

This is the place to be for a quiet, spoiling, romantic getaway that is not tourist-oriented, but rather oriented toward the COUPLE.

One last word: Mary Pat's breakfasts are to die for. Yes, she will share the recipes!

This is a beautiful and immaculately kept B & B. There are many thoughtful touches that we enjoyed -- a gas fireplace in the bedroom, a Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom, plus an 8-person hot tub outside (which we didn't use -- it was unseasonably cool when we were there), home-baked cookies and tea/coffee makings always available. The owners have a gift for being around to make helpful suggestions about dining, sightseeing, etc. when you need them, yet giving you all the space you want if you want to be left alone. And the breakfasts were absolutely delicious. Although I thought initially I wouldn't like the idea of everyone eating breakfast together at the same time (8:30), it turned out to be a great experience -- the guests were a fascinating group of people from all over the country, and both mornings we were there we enjoyed the lively conversation. By the end of our two day/two night stay, we felt as though we had been visiting with family, rather than a commercial establishment. I highly recommend the Foxfield!

My husband and I chose this inn for our trip to celebrate our anniversary. And, we are pleased with the hospitality and professionalism of the inn owner, Mary Pat and John. The inn is situated only ten minutes from the historic downtown of Charlottesville, amidst the wineries and the green lush woods in the country side. It is pretty new and elegantly decorated with fireplace in the living room and dining room. Our room is neat and clean with a nice view of the backyard, kazebo, fish pond and outdoor jacuzzi.

We were seated with other four couples at the dining table and served with great tasting fruit, warm muffin, and delicious egg benedict. It was a wonderful breakfast. Unfortunately, we stayed there for only one night. We will definitely come back for a longer stay.

The only thing we regret about our visit to the Foxfield Inn is that we only had one night to enjoy it. Every part of the Foxfield Inn is designed to assure the complete relaxation of its guests. Mary Pat and John could not have been more gracious and helpful. Breakfast was remarkable. We could not have had a more enjoyable experience, and we hope to make it back as soon as we can.
