All those who came before us and posted on Trip Advisor - thank you. When we arrived in Charlottesville after traveling 6 hours, we were hungry and needed to have a drink. We went right to Mas. Arriving at 9:00ish, we waited about 15 minutes for a table inside. We could have sat outside right away, but it was a little too cool that night, so we waited. Enjoyed a drink while we waited for the table. Upon being sat, we reviewed the very extensive menu, made our choices of a couple different tapas dishes (not worth describing as the menu changes often), and were delighted with all of our choices. We typically like having smaller meals, so this was just right for us.

Get here early if you want a seat. This small-plates restaurant is very popular, and once you try the food you will understand why. Every dish we had was excellent. In fact, the Spanish tortilla was easily the best we have had outside of Spain. The food is also reasonably priced.

The line started forming at 5:15 for the 5:30 opening. What a great menu! Lots of variety, and it just transports you to Spain. The highlights for us were the oysters, the tortilla, shrimp, and the fennel salad. Next time, I will try to save room for dessert, the desserts looked very European! The servers are incredibly efficient, so don't worry about the wait for a table; you will be well looked after.

We have been here numerous times and it never gets old. We usually have the steak, bacon wrapped dates, grilled tomatoes, spinach salad, and potatas bravas which are our favorites by far. The other things on the menu tend to change up but overall the food has never been disappointing. The food is all local and fresh and althought the atmosphere is a little hectic at times, we love it.
