We went into this not knowing what to expect, and we were pleasantly surprised in every respect. Although the outside doesn't look like much, the inside was attractive and comfortable, and the menu had interesting but recognizable offerings that made the potentially exotic cuisine approachable and appealing. We collectively swooned over the mussels--not to be missed, and my entree (a savoury lamb stew) was truly wonderful. Others had similarly positive reactions to their food. The service was discreet but attentive, and the portions generous but not overwhelming. On the whole, a thoroughly enjoyable and noteworthy meal.

This South African themed restaurant has some good dishes. The menu reflects the British/Dutch influence and the owner lived in South Africa before settling in C’ville. They have a decent beer/wine selection and very good service. The food is good and just a little different. Good indoor & outdoor seating (seasonal). If you like to watch soccer and rugby at a bar, this is your place. Convenient to downtown. Good family/friends spot.

Don't let the location in a tacky strip mall fool you - this place is terrific. The decor is lovely and the tables are well-spaced. The atmosphere was quiet but not boring. Service was very attentive. The food was very interesting. Portions were generous. There is something for every taste here, from typical (grilled salmon) to familiar with a twist. I had the lamb stew, which was spicy and delicious. I've had lamb stew before, but this is not like your typical stew that you pick up in Ireland or Australia. The seasoning is unique, and made me want to keep eating. My husband had the ground nut stew which was really wonderful. We shared the chicken satay appetizer, served with a peanut sauce and a chutney. It was good as well. We definitely want to go back, because there were three other items we really wanted to try on the menu. Be aware, though, it is pricey. Entrees are $18 and up.

This restaurant was recommended by a friend so we thought we would give it a try for lunch before checking into our hotel.

It was hard to find because it is at the very end of a strip mall and the sign was blocked with greenery. Our GPS kept telling us we were in the right place, but after going around the block once or twice, we found it behind McDonald's.

It is a very attractive place inside. We ate at the bar and service was very good. I got fish and chips and my husband got a chicken sandwich. We had a couple of draft beers and the price was very reasonable. Would like to try their dinner menu some time in the future. Looked very interesting.

Our sandwiches were tasty and came out quickly.

This is the only South African restaurant I've ever been to but after eating here I am surprised this cuisine it is not more popular as it is fantastic! Try the grilled rack of lamb, it is excellent.
