I love the space. It's historic, easily accessible, and well-maintained. The food I ate was not great. It's a buffet that costs about $20 each and the food you get is basically a lunch a KFC: fried chicken, green beans, etc. Not at all what I was expecting. Call ahead!

This was a fun place to visit and have lunch for us when in the area. There is a limited choice of options so if you have a picky eater, you may want to call ahead and make sure you have options. However, if you are okay with the menu, the food is good and it gets you in the mood for a historical visit.

I really loved having dinner here after spending a cold day touring the grounds of Monticello. It has authentic, early-American cuisine, and the atmosphere you might have expected dining at a tavern during Jefferson's era. Also, great gift shop with many unique items.

I went there with my family. The food was pretty good. Unfortunately, my kids only wanted Mac & Cheese and Hotdogs. They didn't have that at Michie Tavern so my kids were hungry. It was overall a fun place to be if you are not with kids or don't have picky eaters.

Based on the brochure they put out and wanting more of the colonial experience after a visit to Monticello, we cut short our visit there to make the end of the midday meal. Regret we did that. Herded into a very small buffet line with limited selections, not the wide variety implied but not actually promised in the brochure. It was also more than a bit pricey - particularly since drinks and desserts were additional.

Ambience at best faux colonial

The fried chicken was indeed excellent - sad that the rest of the meal was not up to it.
