As a UVa alumnus, I generally visit my old favorites at the corner. I actually didn't even realize this place existed until a friend recommended we try it. It is an excellent addition to the corner offerings. Sandwiches are made on a variety of freshly baked breads and ingredients are fresh. Personally, I had the chicken salad on wheat with the house dressing, which apparently is not to be left off your sandwich. There is a wide variety of chips and a few salads available for sides.
The restaurant itself is pretty small, but we were able to secure a table on this busy parents' weekend at The University. In traditional "corner" style, there are a couple of outdoor café tables to enjoy also. Fountain drinks are available with free refills and they are apparently pretty proud of their water filtration system that feeds the fountain. There are also bottled beverages available.
Upon entering the restaurant, things seem a bit chaotic as there didn't really seem to be a true line. The other customers were very courteous as people would ask, "have you ordered yet?", to try to stay in order of arrival. The service was pretty quick given the confusion, and our order was correct.
This is located around the corner from the famous Mincer's and is near The Biltmore Restaurant.
