After hearing about this "hole in the wall," my family and I were ready for some great BBQ, but were thoroughly dissappointed in both the food and the experience. Not only was there nowhere to sit, Jinx pushed aside some old VHS tapes and other assorted personal letters and clothing items that cluttered the countertop, but the place was altogether filthy. I have no idea how the kitchen would pass any reasonable heath inspection. Further, as our "sammiches" were being prepared, Jinx grabbed the fly swatter and killed a big fly right in front of us, but instead of cleaning it up, he left it on the counter for our viewing pleasure as we tried to eat our lunch. Don't bother looking for a clean plate, drink selections, or a napkin either. Old plastic cafeteria plates and peach iced tea from the supermarket are all you get. However, I was willing to look past all this for the grat BBQ, right? Wrong! Our sammiches were luke warm with little or nor sauce, and most had huge pieces of fat in them as well. Jinx forgot about our onion rings in the deep fryer but served them to us anyway after they were black and crunchy like the crumbs on the bottom of your toaster. Altogether, the BBQ was just so-so and his "secret BBQ sauce" was overloaded with black pepper which was all I could taste. Needless to say, we will never be coming back to Jinx's BBQ and couldn't wait to leave. All in all, so dissapointed and in need of Purrell. Next time we go to the other BBQ restaurants in Charlottesville that we know we like.
