Excellent food, courteous staff all went well and they were busy with the graduation crowd! We'll go back when our son graduates!

“Special Place a bit of the path”
Reviewed June 17, 2013

Beautiful old inn in the midst of commercial offices but worth finding. We dined outside on the very pleasant patio. The service is excellent, friendly, without pretension. They use local suppliers. The chef really has a nice touch. We had glasses of wine, two appetizers, entres, and dessert (1). $120 including the tip. Very reasonable for a great evening.

“Excellent!”
Reviewed June 12, 2013

From start to finish, an excellent experience! We had called to tell them we were going to be late for our reservation because we had been hit on the way. Fortunately, a very minor accident but they started our evening off with complimentary champagne to ease our pain:) Rachel and Jenny were attentive and friendly. The food was very good - we had the salmon, tenderloin and lamb. Save room for dessert! Peanut butter ice cream sandwich was awesome and great to share!

“Burned Food was served”
Reviewed June 12, 2013

Really. Everyone knows what burned toast and bread look like. Why would you actually take it to the table and serve it. Portabello mushrooms with burned toast. The toast does not have to match the color of the mushroom.

“An old standby”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

A recent meal confirmed the reliability of this old standby: The Ivy Inn never disappoints for a special occasion, this time a wedding anniversary. And now with the "small plates" option of two portion/price options for certain items you can sample more on the menu. The service was the right balance of attentive without being obtrusive, and the food top-notch ( in a city with lots of top-notch restaurants ), but it is the setting of an old worn home that provides the special charm of the place. It is on a short list ( Duner's, C&O...) of Charlottesville restaurants that have a lived-in personality which cannot be matched in even very good strip-mall eateries..
