Looking for good value, speedy service and nice simple food, then this is a great choice. Party of 4 adults enjoyed a couple of 10" pizzas, a 12" pizza, all you can eat salad bar, soups and drinks for just over $80. The salad selection was plentiful, varied and fresh; the pizza base was lovely and crispy with not too much cheese - in particular the Henny Penny was a lovely light choice. A short drive or even a reasonable walk from the Double Tree Hilton Hotel.

was our second time at The Brick Oven and for sure they have the BEST pizza in Charlottesville by far. They also have a soup and salad bar which is fresh homemade. The staff is very polite and the service is superrrr fast It is great for family and dates. Good selection of beer and wine. One this is for sure we'll go back to eat their delicious Helen Of Troy pizza on whole Wheat Crust cooked on their real wood fire place

This is by far the best pizza you would ever find, real wood fire pizza, the service is great, great stuff and the service is super fast, I mean it tool 10 minutes to the most for us to get two large pizzas. They have a great salad bar that is all homemade and excellent soups. I had not been to this restaurant bc they first people that owned had turned the place like a trash can, trashy people worked there and it took forever to get the food. Now the place is clean, the people that have it are great, the best food and service you will find it. IT WORTH EVERY PENNY!! A+++++++

If you are coming here for a salad at the all you can eat salad bar, then I would recommend it. It not only has the salad fixin's it has different types of salads like tuna, macaroni salad, bean salad etc. that is good. This is what saved this restaurant from getting 2 stars (poor).
The owners had purchased this from previous owners, which the Italian dishes were pretty good. They had passed on the recipes to new owners but I think they forgot to give them the seasoning needed for the dishes. The Italian dishes are very bland. Even adding parmesan, salt & pepper wasn't enough. The pasta sauces are like plain tomato sauce. They do have a brick wood fired pizza oven and the pizza is decent. Again, sauce is nothing special. I overheard a customer ordering spaghetti and the owner asked, "Wouldn't you prefer the ziti pasta?" Could not believe that. If she wanted ziti she would have asked for it...big difference.
It's a shame because the owners are very nice. Wish someone with cooking experience would come in and train them on Italian cuisine. I'd like to see them do well.

We were planning on going to another restaurant in the vicinity of the The Brick Oven only to find out they were on vacation. We were tired from a long day of sightseeing and decided to go to the closest eating establishment we could find. The restaurant a typical pizza place had lots of tables and several people were behind a counter flipping pies. My husband and I decided we would share two small pies from the extensive selection of specialty choices. We opted for one made with a pesto sauce, fresh pesto leaves, tomato, feta cheese and artichoke. Blew my mind. The second was made with pizza sauce, artichoke, pine nuts, garlic and several different cheeses. Wonderful. Our server was excellant as well. This place was a winner and we're sort of glad the other restaurant was closed.
