“Only had the beer, nice but not very complex”
Reviewed October 2, 2013

Fresh beer is always better beer, but I feel like the brewer didn't take too many chances with flavor or hop levels. The beers were good, don't get me wrong, they just didn't have a wow factor, a bit weak for my tastes (and I had their more robust selections). The bartender was very helpful and a nice guy.
if you live in an area where microbreweries are rare, give it a try, but you may be a bit underwhelmed otherwise.

“Good Food and drink”
Reviewed August 17, 2013

We just went for a quick dinner during the week. They have a varied menu and good food.Nothing special from a dining standpoint. May be different story later in the evening.

“Good beer, good food”
Reviewed August 9, 2013 via mobile

Went for lunch. Limited lunch menu. Smoked salmon bot was phenomenal. Chopped salad was terrific. Got the beer sampler-we liked 5 of the 8 beers- the hefeweizen is decent. The bartender gave us a blend ot a stout and a honey beer, which was terrific. Nice place to hang for lunch, but they could use more options in the lunch menu. Nachos were very cheesy.

“Great Nachos, Average brew pub”
Reviewed August 6, 2013

Based on reviews on TripAdvisor and Yelp, we decided on this location for dinner on our recent trip to Charlottesville. If you are looking for a good plate of nachos, this is the place to go. Sometimes you take a gamble when you order chos, but this place had a sufficient chip to chesse to chili ratio. Atmosphere was a bit young, (a lot of college-age kiddos) for us, but we enjoyed it. Also, if all you want to drink is wine (like me), this is probably not the best place as they are known for their beer here, (it is a brewery after all)

“Tasty food, tasty beers, cool casual atmosphere”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

I came to South Street during our one night in Charlottesville on our way to South Carolina. Nice aesthestics, the beers were good. I got the Hefeweizen and Liberation Lager and one other seasonal beer, can't remember the name, some blend of hops and malt that was like 7something% alcohol. The stuffed trout was delicious, as well as vegetarian nachos, portabello ravioli, and pretzel bread pudding for dessert. Our server, Nick, was excellent, and even gave us local directions that were very helpful. A great experience.
*Note: they don't have their own parking lot, but there is metered parking and a pay lot (with tickets) just across the street.
