Owner description: Featuring over 1,300 acres of breathtaking scenery, Trump Winery is situated in the heart of the Monticello Wine Trail. Just a few miles from Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello, Trump Winery follows Jefferson’s footsteps in making new world wines inspired by the French wine regions of Bordeaux and Champagne. With a deep sense of place, Trump Winery ties together terroir and innovation, boasting nearly 200 acres of vines, large lakes, and rolling Blue Ridge views. We know that any visit to Trump Winery will be a treasured experience.

We've been to alot of winerys in the east. However, we were a little disappointed in this winery. The staff of the winery seem to want us to go outside to the wine tasting instead of tasting inside. We were expecting to be able to tour the vineyard and the winery. I know that the winery is being taken over by Trump family, but if I had been a tourist from out of town and travel all those back roads to get to it. I would have wanted a refund.

Not as close to Monticello as previous reviews on TA would have you believe I don't believe it was a wasted journey. Driving I couldn't enjoy the full tasting experience but the lunch was just perfect ( a lot of the wineries offer sandwiches etc - we had a lovely coronation chicken salad & crab cakes). My main beef with Donald would be that the lovely picture on most of the wineries advertising is actually an admin building which you cant really get close to. One to choose though.

We were eager to visit since we heard about the drama which unfolded during the foreclosure purchase by "The Donald." I must say that, like most everything the Trumps handle, the winery is first-class. Tasting was only $6 and you could sit down on a lovely veranda and enjoy a glass of wine with appetizer platter (we enjoyed a platter with prosciutto with cheese, bread, olives, and pickles). Great visit -- will return again to see how the Trump wines evolve under the new ownership.

I have always loved the wine at Kluge, but never had a great experience in their tasting room. Trump Vineyards has now delivered the complete package! The wine is outstanding, and the tasting room staff is warm, friendly, and knowledgable. The new tasting room setup allows you to hear about the wines as you are tasting them (which is a practice done in most of the central Virginia wineries and vineyards already), whereas the old format was to take your flight, sit somewhere else, and try your best to make sure you knew which wines you were drinking from the tasting sheet. They have a small, but delicious lunch menu and a newly revamped back patio that allows you to enjoy a bottle of wine, while overlooking the beautiful mountains surrounding the vineyard. It is still pricey, but now I feel like the price is justified. You can t put a price on great wine, great people, and a great outing spent with friends!

We toured many of the wineries around Virginia over the course of 4 days and this was by far the best. The staff was excellent and we love the outdoor seating. This will become an annual trip!
