“Beautiful”

Nice experience. Tour guide needs to be friendlier towards children while inside the house. Outside grounds are great to explore. There are several outbuildings and animals to visit.

“Another Really Good Historical Site”
Reviewed November 15, 2012

After visiting the ostentacious Monticello, Ash Lawn- Highland is much more down to earth. It's still a great looking property and the 275-year old oak tree out in front of the house makes the property. The history of the property is very interesting and the outbuildings give a good idea of what life must have been like. Consider the President's Pass to get the best deals.

“Very Informative”
Reviewed November 13, 2012

While not on par with Monticello, Ash Lawn-Highland is definitely worth a look. It was good to be reminded that Monroe was also a great patriot who contributed much to our country's growth. There is a beautiful oak tree in front of the house which is massive.
