Very neat home and property. Doesn't take as long to go through as Monticello but definately worth a visit.

After visited Monticello, this estate is much smaller & less elabrate. It is a down-to-earth 1800's planation.

“Worth a visit”
Reviewed June 1, 2012

If you're here for Monticello Ash Lawn - Highland is worth a visit. Much smaller and more humble than Jeffersons home the house does a good tour and is furnished as Monroe would have known it.

“History of USA”
Reviewed June 1, 2012

On an earlier trip we toured Monticello, so this time we wanted toi learn of Jefferson's contemporaries. We had a very knowledgeable docent that enhanced our knowledge and memory of Monroe's contribution to the history of the USA.
