“Great Experience”
Reviewed January 26, 2014

We had a great experience with Andrea and our driver, Rick. We called at the very last minute to arrange a brewery and winery tour for 8 people. Andrea was professional and efficient, getting everything set up within mere minutes. Rick showed up as soon as possible, was attentive, friendly, and polite. He got us to where we were going very safely, and we particularly appreciated the gourmet chocolates. We highly recommend this company and will hopefully be using them again soon.

“Great tour!”
Reviewed January 7, 2014

Andrea was very helpful in setting up our tour even though it was very last minute. We were concerned with being able to get lunch on our tour and she assured us that our guide would give us a few options on our tour. She confirmed our appointment and let us know who our tour guide would be so we knew who to expect.

Bit showed up early to our tour and was very professional. He was extremely helpful in determining which vineyards we should visit on our wine tour. I had a list of wineries that I was interested in going to and he was able to provide me with information about all of them. He let us set the pace for our tour and told us that if we were okay with pushing it, he would be able to get us to as many on our list as possible, which is exactly what he did. We never felt rushed for time at any of the wineries.

Bit was very knowledgeable about all of the wineries and what each winery had to offer. He made suggestions based on our tastes and was available to provide answers without being overbearing or making us feel as though he was watching our every move.

When it was time for lunch, he made several suggestions and helped us figure out which winery would be good for us to bring a lunch to. We were able to take a leisurely lunch, get a glass of wine and enjoy the setting at our favorite winery, Pollak. Bit even built a fire for the winery which really contributed to the ambiance. While we took our time here, we were still able to fit in 4 other wineries on our trip.

My husband and I had an incredible day on our wine tour and Bit really went above and beyond to make the experience enjoyable. He was courteous (opening and closing my car door all day), knowledgeable, professional, and extremely accommodating. I definitely recommend him if you are interested in doing a wine tour!

“First class tour with knowledgeable guide”
Reviewed January 3, 2014

Our interest was beyond tasting the wine. We wanted to learn about the wine making process and the soil in VA. Our guide,Bit, was good source for all kind of information . He did not only know about the wine but also the history of the vineyards. The most important thing is that he did not act as a salesman .He was patient , thoughtful and not intrusive. Service was on time, lunch was suitable for wine tour with very good variety of cheese and fruit. it really was civilized ,appealing and fun.
We bought the full package -169$ per person which is a little pricey but the service and knowledge of the guide made it worth every penny. We will be going back to attend a blending class at the Stinson vineyard in March. We were happy to start our tour at the Stinson winery. The owner, Scot, knew his wine and was honest and enthusiastic in answering questions. It was a great educational journey. We bought some good wine . We recommend the service with no reservation . “Excellent Day”
Reviewed December 29, 2013

My husband and I are from small town North Dakota and temporarily displaced in Washington, D.D. For our first anniversary we took a trip to Charlottesville, VA to escape the craziness of the city. On a whim I book an afternoon with Blue Ridge Wine Excursions, not really having done a whole lot of research as it popped up as an activity on the site of the B&B we had booked (Sugar Hollow Farm also a great place if you enjoy peace quiet and great scenery). Anyway, we were picked up EARLY, a very happy surprise, by our driver, Bit, yes his name is Bit! :) He was an absolute delight, very knowledgeable in the area, and the wines! We visited 5 wineries, and made a quick stop at one of the local breweries. We had the package with lunch included, which was set up for us while we were busy doing a tasting at one of the vineyards, it was simple, light, and perfect for a day of sightseeing, and wine tasting. The vineyards in the area are beautiful, hospitable, and a great experience. For a couple who are used to a slow paced relaxed lifestyle, this was the perfect day! The day was more than I could have asked for, great wine, great food, great scenery, and a great host! Highly recommend this trip for anyone in the area, whether your a couple, a group of girls, of a group of friends looking for a fun relaxed day with a little bit of history and a lot of great wine!

“Very fun day!”
Reviewed December 22, 2013

For our annual girls weekend, we booked Blue Ridge to drive us around to a few wineries. We had a list of wineries we wanted to visit. We were pleasantly surprised with our drivers' recommended change of plans, as he took us to wineries that we otherwise would not have visited. The reservation was very easily made and accommodating on our timing. I definitely plan on using them again when we are down in the area.
