Description: Seasonally Inspired, Locally Acquired. Set in a whimsical atmosphere of a converted auto service station at the heart of Midtown, Chef Justin Hershey works closely with local farmers in creating his seasonally inspired progressive American menu. Zinc's local-centric sensibility is also reflected in the wine and cocktail offerings. Enjoy warm weather aperitifs and dining on the spacious patio.

Set in an old gas station this restaurant serves local food. Salads and apps were terrific. The entrees were also great and had nice combinations of flavors. Scallop with meyer lemon sauce was excellent!! Highly recommend this gem.

Have dined at this repurposed garage/restaurant many times and are seldom disappointed. Creative a la minute cooking with quality mostly local ingredients. Quite a varied menu but basically french. Highly recommended.

As noted, the restaurant is in a former garage, hence very open and airy inside, with nicely spaced tables. Due to my obsession with small plates, I had the deviled eggs, and the charcuterie plate, both excellent (I would definitely order them again). The wine list is small but judiciously chosen. We killed a bottle of Niner Cabernet from Paso Robles, which you don't often see even in California wine shops. The cocktails are truly excellent, but of course that is an absolute requirement nowadays for any venue that hopes to stay in business. The service was attentive and pleasant.

Zinc is housed in the service bays of an old gas station, which gives it huge windows along with a funky vibe. There is also a nice outdoor seating area with a fountain and fresh herbs and vegetables growing, despite its downtown location. The menu is small and reflects locally available seasonal produce, which the chef puts to the best possible use. All of our appetizers and entrees featured Inspired combinations of ingredients and flavors. Truly delicious and creative. Dessert was much more traditional and could be skipped.
